Corsair K90 or Razer Blackwidow Ultimate or SOMETHING ELSE?

So I'm in the market for a new keyboard, and I have a not too demanding criteria.

1.Must be backlit
2.Must be mechanical
3. Must be less then ~$110

I can get both keyboards for less than $110, so it looks like these are my only two options. Which one should I get?

Do you have an opportunity to try either of these keyboards? They use different mechanical switches and it would be best if you could try them to see which type you like best.

I tried my friends blackwidow and bought the k90 and i must say that i am glad i did. I personally like the feel of the k90 much more. I also tried the k60 and love that one much more then the blackwidow. If you can go without backlighting and no hotkeys get the k60 and save a few bucks!!

edit: Also a nice perk for me was the aluminum body and the way the keys stand up off the board, makes for easy cleaning and much nice build quality then the plastic of the black widow!!

If you have a best buy nearby you might be able to try the blackwidow ultimate. They usually have them in stock. I only say this because I have a Blackwidow Ultimate and it is really quite loud. It doesn't bug me but my roommates don't like it. I believe the cherry red switches used in the K90 are quieter.

I'm not a fan of Corsair's free floating keys. If I was to clean my board, I'd have to take off all the keys anyway. Regardless, congrats on the decision smile.gif

One problem with Black Widow Ultimate is that the keys are smaller and placed tighter. I had it for a few days and then returned back to the store because of that. Also, the macro keys on the left were getting in the way constantly, but I am sure I would have gotten used to that I time.

Hopefully you like it. I've had both and after a few hours of gaming and swapping with my brother back and forth we decided we both hated using the Corsair. Not soo much because of the switches, they are a lot harder to push down and quieter unlike the red's in the Razer but because of the way the keys are layyed out. A lot more cramped around WASD and the layout was weird, always kept pressing the wrong buttons, just felt weird, couldn't get used to it (have owned and used Logitec G19, Razer Tarantula and several others and felt at home the second I started using it). Gaming was not enjoyable on it. But other than that, I really did like the looks and had high hopes for it.
