Ok so I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 in a VM under Windows on my sig rig.
It's currently crunching a 6903 and was doing a comfortable 50m per frame up until the past three or four which have strangely ballooned to 55m - which is good for a 10k ppd drop.
AfaIct no background processes on the host or VM are stealing any cycles, and for good measure I've set priorities for essential and non-essential processes so the VM gets 99%+ cpu time on the host; which works well. I'm running Process Lasso which keeps a history of process cpu usage and nothing out of the ordinary was taking up any cycles, so at a bit of a loss to what's slowing down the client.
Ideas?
Thanks.
