I hate that I sold that card :-( The cooler was dead silent even at 100 percent fan speed, no one can seem to match arctic cooling when it comes to after market GPU air coolers.

That's a shame that would have been nice to keep.

I was going to get this card but it went out of stock too fast. I'm not complaining with what I got. Unlocked voltage or not I've never had a top tier card before ever and this thing already does everything I want. I can honestly say the best investment to make is just to get another one if I need more power but for now this thing is perfect. I ordered two more mini HDMI to HDMI adapters and a Display Port to DVI D adapter last night they'll be here tomorrow. I'll be trying out 3D on this tomorrow night.

Yea it's basically the size of a keyboard but made of glass. Should chime in about $150. Screw that. The EVGA Classified is in the same boat. Needs the EV BOT to go above 1.175 so $750+ you can kiss my rear. MSI is the only company to have an unlocked voltage and more reports suggest it has to do with the bios. It has the same Chil chip + their custom chip, much like the layout of the card I have. So it's looking promising but no hope yet.

Okay thanks, thats what I was afraid of. If the gigabyte card ends up being even comparible to this card with the core speed then im sending the galaxy card back and saving myself the extra $50.00.

Yea sounds good. I only paid $330 on this one but that was because I had an exclusive deal on it.

Haha I wish I could sometimes but I can't lose those benefits at all. Too good. Especially upcoming for my LGA 2011 build which will feature 2 680 Lightnings, or two of these cards if they voltage goes unlocked.

Reading through this thread it seems like this is one of the best clocking gtx 680's out there at the moment.

I just wonder why the hell no company has released a version that can control the voltage with software to around 1.3v?

Because I feel that if someone came out with a card that could do that, they would sell like hotcakes even if priced around $800, since they would be the ONLY card with software voltage control.

I really wonder what is stopping them.

Just wait for the MSI 680 Lightning to be released. That was their huge bragging rights they were talking about at Computex. And it's going to be under $600

I think it's the 600 architecture that's being a pain. MSi seemed to have figured how to implement a software VRM controller.

Yea that's where the problem lies. It has to do with Nvidia's VID algorithms. Regardless of controller on the board the limit is with how Nvidia interprets the inputs. Every volt mod out there bypasses this making it think it is still running at 1.175, so I've heard. MSI I'm assuming has been able to re-do the VID and map it out to how they used to work in the old generation. But I didn't design it I can only go off what I see.
