Theres a review of this card on KitGuru here
I did order mine in haste though, didn't realise there is no dvi output and requires x2 8 pin pcie.
If I use my one 8pin pcie and then use one of the included dual molex to 8pin pcie adaptors be ok ? or will the card not get enough power ?
Failing that I will order a dual 6pin to 8pin pcie which should work right ????
As the the outputs, well i've only got DVI on my monitor, so i've purchased a hdmi to dvi cable - so then i'll only need to use the supplied mini hdmi to hdmi adaptor. Hoping that will work okay rolleyes.gif

You should be fine there's two adapters, mini hdmi to hdmi and then hdmi to dvi. Enjoy the card. The power should be fine

Loving this card so much !!!

I got the base clock 1150 / boost clock 1215 version, but during gaming its boosting to 1280mhz biggrin.gif temps are hitting 74'c after a few hours of BF3, but at that speed fan is 55% and very quiet.

I agree with others, 60% or more and its VERY loud, but left to itself at the above settiings its inaudible during gameplay.

Was a bit worried as I have had Accelero Xtreme Plus coolers on my previous 4 cards, so got used to silence when gaming, but although this cooler allows temps about 20'c higher than an Accelero (~50'c) its still as quiet.

As long as it keeps boosting to 1280mhz untouched i'll be happy, dont even need to use any OC tools, set up fan profiles, nothing. Just install and forget thumb.gif

That's awesome good to hear. Impressive overclock for that version as well. And I am very touchy about fan noise but to me 60% is the threshold for my consideration of quiet. Even on a meter it was hardly much over ambient computer noise. I guess that's a benefit to a case with large size and airflow. I can easily drown my card out at 70% with light music and that's impressive especially for me when I can't even sleep with a tv in standby mode let alone my computer on and my computer during any event outside benching is HTPC quiet. But anyways glad to see you like the card. I love mine for sure. Waiting on whoever releases voltage first be it Galaxy, Zotac, or MSI

When I get my 620 bracket in, I will mount it to my card and see what happens (I'll take pictures as well). I have a GTX 480 under my 680, so my 680 goes as high as high as 80C under load, and I don't want to push the fan speed up as I want a quiet system. Plus, it'll put me in good position to push the core voltages when that comes around. thumb.gif

Lol sounds like it gets spicy. You notice any throttling at all? Mine just goes to 1293 (Stock) after 86-87 degrees but nothing below my settings until then.

Tried flashing the Lightning bios onto the card this morning, but my bootable USB isn't coming out right for some reason. When I try to boot of it I keep seeing "g operating system_" and then it does nothing. I've been following instructions exactly, but I keep getting this result. I'll have to try some more when I get home. I hope this ends up working because I got my bracket in as well to mount the 620, which I have yet to get around doing.

Alright so here is what I have discovered so far

- Using the default bios that comes with the GTX 680 (D9), AB 2.2.3 gets the voltage up to 1.212V - the same as the non-ln2 680 bios. My overclock increased about 30mhz. I'm about 1320mhz stable in Heaven now.
- The power usage is about 10-15% higher (again original D9 bios). I'm seeing it go as high as 85% now, where as before I maybe saw 72% max. It seems like Kepler really starts to suck power above 1.175V.
- I flashed the ln2 bios and all seemed well for a little while, until I randomly changed a setting (was maybe the 3rd setting I tried, others were okay) in AB and I hardlocked black screened and when I rebooted the dual bios kicked in and recovered the original. And update on this now... back using the ln2 bios, when I hit apply after i change the core offset, sometimes it goes to +1600 which might be a glitch for us. Maybe some kind of over voltage protection kicked in and caused me to reboot. This doesn't always happen, but it just did (though it did not cause me to reboot)
- No throttling using ln2. Though my temperature are getting high (close to 80C) so I'll have to do that 620 mod soon. I seem to be losing stability above 75C.

Right now the worst case scenario we now have up to 1.212V on the core using AB 2.2.3. Back to testing the ln2 bios!

Sadly the adapter are crap. My HDMI adapter broke off just before I RMA'd the card. Plus, it's so loose, and not secure. I recommend aftermarket single adapter.

(Just because this deserves its own post)

MSI GTX 680 LN2 WORKS!!!

I just did a loop through Heaven at 1377 stable!! And I just did a random value there! I can't wait to put the 620 on now and see if I can push 1400! So flash your Galaxy SOCs and enjoy. biggrin.gif
(Or someone contact Galaxy and tell them to just copy the Lightning bios) tongue.gif

PROOF (look at the maxes, some time went by before I snapped this)

Forgot to post here about it. Good job. I flashed mine earlier today as well. Works like a charm. Can't hit the 1.3+ that everyone with Lightnings can but I can easily make runs at 1380 no problem. I made a run at 1400 at 1.265 volts which in regards to every other run at that clock is amazing because other's voltage is easily 1.34 for that. Here is the 1400 run. Loving this card for sure. I'm gonna start on tweaking some more. The full lockup is just a thing with the LN2 BIOS. My friend has had that issue since owning his Lightning so I just embraced it. Makes overclocking a bit more of a headache. Only thing I've noticed is that I'm getting artifacting at 1390+ but that is because the card is starved for voltage. 1.265 is not enough for stability but is passable in 3DMark 11. Sadly I'm tapped out as that's full max on the voltage slider. I'll have to look into that. Gonna make a new run and see if I can push it further. I will do my heaven scores soon too. 680 SOC owner's, flash and enjoy!
