Hey, those look pretty cool. Nice find. I remember reading something awhile back about more phones that are to use Linux. After I get done with classes tonight I'll try to dig them up and post them.

Mandriva can be KDE or GNOME GUI, ubuntu is just GNOME, in my opinion the way in which KDE is set out i like it better than Gnome.

There are already a lot of Linux phones, and Moto is doing a lot more of them now. I think they went all Linux on them.

Great find,

what i want to know though is will the current Symbian OS mobile phones and Sony Ericsson OS phones be Linux Ready? and would we be able to install Linux without getting new phones?
Some phones yes you could but mainly Pocket PC style phones would be able to handle this over say your regular phone. The registries are a lot easier to get to in a PPC. And S60 can be had in Linux as it is almost a form of Linux in itself and SE OS is just there own type of OS like Moto or Samsung.

On Ubuntu you can install KDE via apt-get. You'll probably better to stick with Ubuntu since it has a large community and many guides and howto's.
