-How many fans can the stock controller control?
-What are the model numbers on the stock fans inside the case?
-What is the best fan configuration for optimal airflow?

The storm trooper fan controller can control up to 4 fans. It has 4 x 3 pin connectors.
In terms of fan configuration, just make sure the front and and side fans are intake and the top and back or exhaust.

What is the model on the default 120mm red LED fans on the Trooper?
Would I be able to use something like this

to control more than 4 fans with the stock controller?

The manual says 4 but really it depends on the current draw of the fans, it is rated for approx 12 watts so at 12 volts it means 1 Amp . For example the CM 120 R4 fan is rated at .37 amps so 3 of those BTW they are fantastic underrated fan , very quiet and flows 70 cfm ,also has good static pressure for use with a lot of rads as well. Manufacturer website should have model number. I won a CM storm trooper at Toronto Lan party but have not opened box because I already have 5 other CM cases otherwise I would look inside. Someone will tell you shortly because there are lots of them around. I`ll check back later if no answer but I bet they are the R4 version. thumb.gif
