They're pretty good, I go there once ever 2-3 months, I'd go there more often but the place is 25 miles from my house, too far. They take anything as long as they have the receipt, except for the usual suspects of course.

They have good deals, I'd tell ya that.

I've never ordered online form them but they have a bunch of stores here on the East side. They carry lots of the newest items in store and many parts for Do-it-yourself pc builders like newegg, it's nice to be able to walk around a PC store that actually has more stuff than the usual outdated crap for the masses. Prices are pretty good for retail, much better than CompUSA or BestBuy I think. Would recommend shopping with them without reservation.

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. When you buy an OEM product you are buying just the product itself basically, with nothing else....no instructions, no nice packaging, no cables, no heatsink, etc. They are usually fairly cheaper than retail and if you don't need all that xtra stuff saves you a lot of money and wasted xtra parts you wouldn't use anyway.

Since I can't PM you Judge, I'll try not to hiijack your thread too much.

Just curious about your chip, man.

Is that 4800+ dual prime stable at 3.14GHz? At what voltage? Just water right? What's your ambient etc?

Just wanna see how these AM2s are panning out.

check the warranty also, oem usually has shorter warranty than the retail versions

Its dual prime stable at 3.14 with 1.55vcore but the ram seems to crap out just about 1050mhz with these timings, so I took it down to 3.12 for my everyday using 1.54vcore. It won't even POST at 3.16 even with 1.65 vcore so I think thats about as far as this chip will go. This is all on air cooling not water, used Scythe Ninja, with coollabs liquid metal, and lapped both ninja and ihs of cpu, in a 900 case with amazing airflow. The ambient temp in my room is about 70 or so with the heat on, if I open the window and turn off the heat the cooling gets even better. It rises to about 43-44C with the heat on at load (stays at about 37C with the windows open when its cold like now), doesnt seem to matter if I run it with 1.45 vcore at 3ghz or 3.12ghz with 1.54, the temps are about the same. Getting about a 15-18C rise from idle on full load.

I think the AM2's are great oc'ers bc I have the x2 4000AM2 and that oc'ed like a champ, doing 2.8 with 1.39 vcore, only reason I couldn't push higher is that these chips dont seem to like very high HTT, and no matter what I did I couldnt go past 280 HTT with that chip (used on both dfi590 and asus m2n32sli, and I hit the same exact htt with both chips, about 284 with 4000, and 304 with 4800 so I know its not the mobo), and x10 is the max multi on it.
