so far 5.2 Ghz with 104 BCLK 50 multi and 1.55v is stable in a quick prime95 run, i hit max temps of 78 C on one core.

when i did BCLK of 106 to get 5.3 ghz i got a hard freeze on Test 2 in prime95. im thinking maybe my ram? the higher BCLK is throwing off my ram freq, its XMP profile has it at 1600mhz at 1.5v, i pumped 1.55 into it and at 104 BCLK its 1664 mhz but when i go to 106 BCLK and 1697 mhz i cant run prime95 for more than a few minutes.

what do you guys think, should i give my ram more volts or force it to run at a slower speed?

the timings are manual and set to 9 9 9 24 2T according to their xmp1600 profile.

1.74v+ If it's getting hot
I'd say..If you want to keep your chip for a while..keep it under 1.68v

i get "cpu over voltage" error when i try to add more than 1.55v and boot. hmm... i have asus sabertooth p67, latest bios

go to the hardware monitor section in BIOS and click "ignore" on vcore

and hey..if it stops booting into Windows or you get the upper-left blinking cursor..You're at your max multi..one lower than where that happens.
you can still try to work the bclck from there..I wouldn't add much more voltage after that point..because it's pointless.

ooo ty i didnt see that ignore option, now im running 5.3 Ghz @ 1.58v with 51x multi and 104 BCLK. im going to try for normal BCLK and higher multi and when i hit my multi cap at 1.58v ill tweak BCLK

I heard different numbers (like say 1.52 V which can be found in the Intel spec sheet IIRC) . And it makes no sense that a 2600 could take a higher voltage than a 2500 .... Please, don't spread false information unless you have the sources to back it up.

I've gone to 1.64V on one of my 2600K's and got it to 5.5GHz (not really worth it, obviously), and 1.55V on my old 2500K and hit 5.3GHz, a better result than my 2600K in my opinion. I really only used those speeds for benching.

Both have been going strong for more than a year now, zero issues, but those are just my chips. Could be different with others.

Mouse has tracking troubles on multi-coloured pads, If you has small-medium hands it is palm or claw grip mouse. For large handed people only claw, go and buy ec1 if you want to palm.
