Troubleshooting Mouse (solved+Mouspad suggestions?)

UPDATED ISSUE

Ok so I bought a BNIB Razer Naga from best buy and after the second day of use it has started to do the same thing my old mouse was doing except this time it fights me to move to the right side of the screen, It isn't as bad as my old mouse to the point where it moves on its own but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before it gets there. For the life of me I can't figure out what is causing this. I need to find out what it is before I toss another mouse.
I have been using my R.A.T.5. + Razer Goliath Omega S (Fragged Speed Edition) for nearly 3 months now and Haven't had an issue and in fact is has been quite a pair, however recently (as in the last day or so) I have noticed that my cursor will fight me when I move it and when the mouse is still it moves the lower-left corner. The first thing I tried is lowering my DPI and that didn't solve anything, secondly dusting/cleaning the mouse+mousepad to no avail, then I removed the mouse pad and used the wood desk and the problem seemed to vanish. A few minutes later I realized that it was still moving to the same corner just slower and less common, even with the DPI all the way down it still does this occasionally.

To me this sounds like my mouse is going out but it's too early to tell. If anybody has any Advice or solutions feel free to help a random guy out, also if anybody has any recommendations for a 6000DPI+ mouse please let me know. Thanks in advance. biggrin.gif

I've had 2 RAT 7s now. I wish the laser in them was better, and I'd be willing to bet that it's a similar laser to your RAT 5s.

I occasionally have some issues where either my mouse does fight me very rarely (I've the "Control" edition of the Goliath) or my "Y" axis simply stops working until I bang my mouse. Banging my mouse actually clears up all the issues..... I'm not sure the bang does, but I'd bet bringing it up and down slowly would too, as it probably forces the laser to search for a surface to track from.

They should make a mouse that is this customizable with a good laser I tell you, so I don't need to keep more of them in stock then my local computer store!

Yeah, RAT just starting fighting me harder again without the pad this time so I just said forget it and tossed the mouse. So now I'm looking into getting a better mouse. I recently stopped using a controller for my games on the PC and have learned to appreciate a high DPI and was wondering if you could point me to a worthwhile 6000DPI+ Mouse. The little iHome 800DPI backup I have is annoying me so I want a new mouse quick.

Honestly, I'm a horrible person to ask! xD I have 2 RAT 7's, because of the many mice I've used, it's the only one that doesn't give me pain in my wrists / hand cramps after extended use.

I'd suggest the Logitec G9x though, while only 5700 DPI, it's an exceptionally good, solid mouse (I had one for years, healing in WoW). Alternatively, I've heard good things about the Razor Mamba, with 6400 DPI, maybe that's a little more up your alley? Also, if you're like me, and can't really use any other type of mouse, there's a high DPI (I believe it's 6200) version of the RAT 7 out, that's full white called the RAT 7 Contagion.

Good luck in the search!

I have updated the OP with new information regarding my problem. If anyone can help me I would be very VERY appreciative as I don't want to toss another mouse.

What is your windows sensetivity? If it's anything less than 6/11 then I don't see why you would need 6000+ DPI, the DPI probably makes the mouse jitter because, the correct firmware hasn't been installed or the sensor cannot handle it and it is interpollated.
3 easy steps to making that mouse stop jittering and moving like a ghost:
So, switch to 6/11 (if you don't use it already)
Get a new mousepad (would like to know what you're using)
Update the firmware (if you haven't updated already)

Idk I was just enjoying the high DPI, biggrin.gif

Anyhow, I have the windows sensitivity down as low as it will go and the DPI up all the way (5400) I have updated the firmware and the drivers.

Using the following pad: Razer Goliath Omega S (Fragged Speed Edition)

Don't have it set as the lowest it will go, it skips pixels, the only correct place it should be is 6/11.
With EPP off(enhanced pointer precision) it makes the mouse act the way it should, skipping no pixels or adding any accel from windows.
Then and only then, you adjust your dpi.
Try that and you should atleast get better tracking smile.gif

Edit: You can lower or higher the sensitivty ingame, that will not skip pixels.

It started moving on it's own more often when I set it to 6/11 + Negative pointer enhancement. redface.gif

The Twin Eye sensor in your RAT (and Naga) is notorious for tracking vibrations, running it nearly maxed out on dpi probably doesn't help either.

Also I hope you realize that 6400 dpi + 1/11 windows sens is completely counter intuitive.
