Is this a stupid idea?? - Page 2

Yeah that was interesting .Yeah noise doesn't bother me either...Thanks....Take a look at this one it's just the DDC and D-5 but it's interesting....You can just scroll down and look at the charts...The DDC beats the D-5 in a actual loop.I have one of the Radiical tops but I like the new Petra Top better, the chamber is smooth as a baby's bottom and the inlet is ringed, havent used it yet but it looks to be a lot better then the Radiical..I was getting about 2.5 gpm through a 120 pro and delphi WB with the Radiical , just using buckets to measure with........DDC Top & Pump Performance Comparison (Petra's, Radiical, Alphacool, etc.) - XtremeSystems Forums

thanks for the link Ira

most interesting part of those tests is the parallel vs series with the DDC

It's pretty obvious series is the way to go, even with the fact that he has both pumps right after each other.

I wish there was a head pressure comparison between the L35 and the DDC

Yeah it looks like series is the way to go...The pumps weren't placed as well as they could of been and still out flowing by almost a third of a gallon!!!....I'll keep my eye's open for L-35 pump comparisions and post back here if I find any good ones....

well I did some more research and it looks like the head pressure on L35 is pretty low, ~2psi. That just isn't going to cut it to go through three waterblocks and 2 radiators. Even in series that sort of head pressure just isn't enough.

Sooooo I bought a mcp355 today with the petratech top. It's probably still going to be a struggle for the loop I envision but it does well in high restriction so it may not be so bad. Plus it will be hell of a lot easier to get in the DD torture rack.

That's a good combo...2psi wow I figured it was low but I didn't know it was that bad.I've been thinking about putting 2 of the DDC w/tops in series and overvolting to 14W, but since I only have a cpu WB in the loop that might be a little sick.. Hey I got a question for you are the Intel boards NB getting real hot? Cause I've seen a lot of the Intel guys talking about excessive heat..The N-Force 4 NB are fine with just active cooling and no WC...Be sure you have your DDC primed good the first time, they can be a little ##### to get get primed sometimes...That's why they first started putting a G 1/4 plug in the top to prime them with...Then they found out how much better they flowed by straightening out the intake...A lot of people haven't been getting them primed well and there ruining their pumps..
