XFX HD 7950 DD - USD 360 with 10% off w/ promo code HARDOCPX613C, ends 6/19 and USD 20 mail in rebate
Nett price = USD 360 - 36 - 20 = 304. can't get any better than this . Maybe they are clearing stock for Tahiti 2 launch at the end of this month.

this card can do 950 Mhz - 1 Ghz at stock volts. with sapphire trixx and voltage tweaking you can get 1100 - 1150 Mhz. clock for clock HD 7950 is close to HD 7970 perf.
here is a review of the XFX HD 7950 DD Black edition. that is the OC version of the above card.

This card has abundant VRAM (3GB) and enough bandwidth to game at 2560 X 1440. Go for it. thumb.gif

This really isn't a bad idea at all although i think the sale is over cause its priced at 399 again. also I was planning on skipping this gen of gpus and waiting for the next series from either amd or nvidia mostly because there arnen't many games out that are to taxing on my gpus to justify an upgrade. But increasing the resolution would definatly be a reason to need a new gpu when I have the money for it. But my budget is currently lowered so I may just have to settle for a 24 inch 1080p monitor.

don't worry. just keep watching newegg for the deal. HD 7950 cards are being cleared stock ahead of Tahiti 2 launch. so just watch out and grab the deal when it comes your way in the next couple of weeks. This card will let you play a demanding game like BF3 maxed at 1080p and be at 60 fps or higher. smile.gif

When i was running a Single gtx 590 i was able to max every game out.. But some were dropping into the 30fps range. So i added a 2nd gtx 590.

So that being said 2x gtx 460 i do not see you being able to max everything out at 2560x1440p with out some major overclocks.

I can already max bf3 and get a steady 60 fraps on ultra although it does dip ocassionally, I also max out the witcher 2 minus ubersampling. so buying the 7950 for 1080p would be a waste.

Yes there is no way any of the games i play will run smooth at ultra settings at 1440p maybe diablo 3 or wow.

does anybody have any benchmarks on how 460s in sli run at 1440p?
