There are many builds that use this way to catalog things. I just re-appropriated the idea thumb.gif

You realize that some reviews list GPU power, where others list total system power, right? To say the 7970 consumes 311W vs the 670s 167W are totally false comparisons.

Review I had pulled this from had these numbers as the GPU Power Consumption under full load for Reference 670 vs Reference 7970. Il shoot a link to it when I get on my laptop later on in the day.

EDIT: Found it. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=916&Itemid=72&limit=1&limitstart=10

Overall, the comparison is a peak wattage pull vs a average over time. So it could be construed as false but I believe it is not.

If your friends think you're crazy because of the components selected for this build.....they would flip out bat-crap crazy at some of the other builds in this forum. Respectable parts you've got selected there my friend....but very average. Not crazy. Good luck with it.

Most of my friends and co-workers arent as enthusiastic about technology as 80% of this forum smile.gif

So, Amped up the graphics card choice after a bit of deliberation. Going to be using a single (possibly dual depending on performance for my application) EVGA/GeForce GTX 690 Signature card. Overall I chose this due to its performance and power needs being better and less than what I would like.

Cant wait to start putting this baby together. thumb.gif

Slight update, sadly it seems as if EVGA is having some issues with my order. Since I am not home and my phone plan is on pause, I cant exactly call them back ASAP. Here is to hoping they did not cancel my order and refund my card already! Sent them two emails explaining what is going on.

Small update, EVGA Customer Support was very nice over the phone and they helped me out a bunch with the order. It was pretty tough getting everything to align so I could order this amazing piece of hardware, but all in all I am thinking it will be worth it.
