Noob Question

Im going to get an Opteron Rig Am2 socket, and i really want to overclock it pretty far, but i keep hearing about ram dividers, is that just when you underclock your ram? any and all info would help. Feel free to enlighten me on what would be the best ram setup for ocing

You put on ram dividers when the fsb gets too high for the ram to handle. At a 1:1 ratio, the ram is working with the fsb. When it becomes unstabel or the ram starts malfuctioning, then you set a divider. Like 3:4 for example.

RAM dividers are mostly used when you have RAM that doesn't overclock much but your CPU can still overclock much higher. If you have good RAM then most of the time you won't need to use dividers
