[Gamesradar] Microsoft says Xbox 360 has more than two years left - Page 2

Well, I really hope we don't have to put up with 2 more years of Xbox. The only console I own is an Xbox and there are very, very few good games that get released anymore. The graphics are very far behind my PC and I'm sick of them specializing in media and streaming content and not on making games. I don't understand why anyone would use half the features they go on and on about. Why would I watch NHL Gamecenter on my Xbox 360? I already paid Comcast the money for the package, why would I not watch it from my TV and eliminate the need for streaming over the internet and Xbox Live and any lag issues that are bound to follow??? Why would I watch ESPN on it? Why wouldn't I just turn the TV to ESPN? I have to have a Xfinity account to get WatchESPN, so why would I not turn it to channel 403 (for me) and watch ESPN that way? Why would I go online with IE on my Xbox? I have multiple computers that can access the internet 10x faster... I wish they'd stop trying to make it the focal point of my entire life and start trying to make it the focal point of my entire GAMING life like it was when I was a kid. I know I can't be the only one to think this.

Sorry had to vent a bit biggrin.gif

More than two years left? They don't even have a year left! Their hardware are completely outdated.

i bet phones will overtake the graphics of the 360 in about 2 years.
Possibly even sooner. When the PowerVR SGX 600 "rogue" series of graphics comes along then we'll have console level performance in mobile devices.

Well I am glad to hear that Microsoft will support the platform when they launch the next one like Sony does with their Playstations. I hated how fast Microsoft killed off the original one when 360 came around.

Okay, MS will stop support for the 360 when the next console comes out, and if think otherwise, you are a fool.

The "support" for 2 years is only because some games are scheduled to come out probably over the next 2 years. Not unlike how PS2 games still came out after the PS3 was out.

Xbox Live of course, will still be accessible by the 360, and since it was made to run on the 360, will still be supported that way.

MS of course, wants to sell 360's this xmas. They will say anything so people will still buy the consoles. You need to look as MS's history to see they tend to say things they do NOT mean, promise features they never intent to include, etc.

microsoft is TRYING to make the xbox into a home PC replacement....thus offering much more varied types of media than just games....and charging you money just so you have the privilege to watch B$ entertainment on your xbox (and that you probably already have through another service)

I hope developers take gaming to Linux. Then, I would have no reason to use Xbox, Windows, etc.

But it won't happen. *cough* EA *cough*
