Hello, I built this rig a while back and have been playing with the
settings a bit and overclocked it up to 4GHz.
Intel i3-560 @ 3.33GHz
ASUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156
CORSAIR XMS 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3 12800
ENERMAX LIBERTY ECO II ELT720AWT-ECO_II 720W
ZOTAC ZT-40406-10P GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 2GB
ZOTAC ION-GPU-A-E ION Graphics Processor 512MB
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM
I have kept temperatures reasonable, 40*C or lower at idle and 70*C
after running Intel Burn test for a while.
Throughout all the tests I have run, it has performed flawlessly, but
for unknown reasons it will stop functioning properly and I must
restart. (I will try to describe the different situations below.)
There are several different forms of it cutting out:
It will continue audio playback and allow the cursor to move, but stop
responding to any input from the keyboard or mouse.
It will stop audio and video completely, just displaying the last
screen I was on.
I have been unable to find a pattern in their occurrences and have a
hard time recreating the situation. It has happened while playing
video games, browsing forums and sitting idle with a couple tabs open
while I slept.
I ran Prime95 as I went to work today and it made it from just before
2 pm to just before 4 before the results stopped. The computer was
still running (power wise) but did not appear as part of the network
or recognizing the inputs.
Ran Intel Burn test under maximum stress level for 10 runs...
Completed without a hitch.
These are my BIOS settings:
What else can I give you to be more helpful or what setting(s) am I off on? (I also am curious as why I am off on the setting, just for future knowledge.)
