Bought a desktop from Ibuypower, extremely low score on 3dmark11. Please help

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I am new to this forum and desktops in general so go easy on me. This is the first desktop I have bought in a while and it is causing me a lot of problems (I definitely regret not building my own PC). The main problem that I am trying to fix is to improve my computer's performance overall. I have made sure that all of my drivers are up to date and have done several clean installs of catalyst by using Driver sweeper but I am still scoring extremely low on 3dmark11.

Here is my score:
http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3606132

I first started realizing my desktop wasn't living up to its full potential when I tried countless times to run Diablo 3 with a steady 30-60 fps by tweaking the settings but no matter how low I set them, my FPS still drops to 10 every now and then. After running this rig on canyourunit.com, I am well aware that this desktop is more than enough to run Diablo 3 on the highest settings with no problems whatsoever. Instead, I am faced with many FPS problems that many of my friends with similar PC's are not experiencing.

I have read topics on this forum with people who have a similar desktops and are having similar issues and they ended up fixing it by buying new ram so I am wondering, do I need to do the same?

Here is the PC that I bought from newegg for reference:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227408

I am open to any suggestions that would help me raise my computer's performance. Please note that I have already reformatted my computer once after buying it a few weeks ago.

Thanks

Way to be helpful...

But seriously, you should never buy from any pre built website, keep in mind for next time.

But as for your problem, I would try a full reformat to windows 7, install all latest drivers online not from CD's to insure you have newest version.

What about the chipset drivers? Just wondering if they would be up to date, since you wiped it, and all

Well there's your problem.

I was about to suggest this.

As for the OP, you might have bad drivers, try different versions or monitoring your GPU usage/GPU clocks if they're at the right setting.

Post your full specs. if possible, i would return the pc. for less $ you could build a better pc and we can all help you here with any questions. its really easy.

ALSO, ibuypower uses EXTEREMLY cheap PSU's. for a 8120 and 6850 im betting you prob have a 300w which at load your system would be pulling more than that easily.

Try running MSI Afterburner while playing D3. See if D3 loads up the graphics card properly. See if the graphics card clocks up from 2d speeds. What resolution are you trying to game at?

Looking at the components of the pc, it does not seem to be a bad build

The board is,

http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-VS3%20FX/

Has a bulldozer chip, and radeon 6850 card. should be fine.

No mention of what PSU they used though. So that could be a problem, or like already mentioned. Drivers!!!!
