Bought a desktop from Ibuypower, extremely low score on 3dmark11. Please help - Page 8

Dumb question. You are hooking it up to the vga/dvi on the card and not to the motherboards vga/dvi right?

Now if you are hooking it up right only thing I can think of is psu is not putting out enough power to the gpu OR your card is stuck at 2d clocks. Hope this helps.

Not dumb at all, I've seen more that one person do that. Boy are they happy when they plug it in their discrete card.biggrin.gif

No doubt that it's possible for sure. However, it would have to be that he used the VGA because that board doesn't have hdmi, that I see anyway

Thread Starter
I initially plugged it into the motherboard vga port and tried to install the drivers when I first got it which might have been a problem. But then I ended up reformatting it with the VGA converter for the graphics card DVI port.

However yesterday the computer ended up having a problem starting up where it would not detect any of my displays. So I am in the process of trying to get it replaced by newegg right now. Hopefully getting a replaced rig and installing the drivers carefully this time will help.

I appreciate all the help guys, thanks

Hey man I actually have the same machine set up, and had issues with some certain games. Diablo 3, Chivalry, MW3, and Guild Wars 2

I narrowed my issues down however to the CPU, it kept throttling. You haven't posted in a bit so I don't know if you fixed it or not, but I found that when I disabled a few things, including "thermal throttling" in BIOS, following this guide:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1202751/amd-fx-cpu-throttling-fixes-please-sticky

I would get good FPS in those games. The problem is as soon as I tried to do anything, the whole computer would shut down. Since we have literally the exact same machine, I assume the issue may be the same. I am still stuck on how to fix though myself =/
