Tuning adapter?

Recently installed a hauppauge 2650. So after getting the cable card, the cable provider (time warner cable) told me I would not be able to receive a lot of my HD channels because this device required a tuning adapter to be able to view switched digital video channels.

Do I have to get a tuning adapter from TWC?

Do I have any other options to receive switched digital video?

This kinda blows, I can pick up ESPN in HD, but all the other good channels are on sdv..

Just ask them for the adaptor, I pay the $2.00 or what ever it is for the cable card and nothing for the tunning adaptor.

Looks like I am going to have to get one from them. I just hate giving them more money. In addition to the cable card fee they are charging for the tuning adapters. It's a trivial amount of money but I hate getting bled to death in bs fee's

Time Warner isn't charging me for the tunning adaptor, just the cable card. wth.gif

When I asked the women on the phone, she said there would be a charge. Maybe its something new or recent they are doing. Either way I'll head down to a dist. center next week and check it out.
