Thread Starter
I need a new power supply that has at least 4 Sata power connectors sp I can run 3 HDD's and an Optical Drive.

What are your thoughts on the Thermaltake Litepower 700W ATX PSU?

I don't know about Thermaltake, but I'm running a Rosewill HIVE, which appears to be nearly the same price. The HIVEs are based off of Seasonics, and are supposed to be good. As for the cables, I think just about any new PSU will have those thumb.gif

any new PSU will have plenty of SATA connectors. And Seasonic manufactured PSU's are considered one of the best around here.

But if your old one still performs good enough, you can use MOLEX to SATA power adapters. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=molex+sata&x=0&y=0

You suggested a new PSU of 700W, what kind of system do you run? 700W is a whole lot of power, usually only required if you go SLI or Xfire.

That's an overrated Solytech unit, not worth recommending.... what does your system consist of?

I know people with Thermaltake PSU's and they say they're great, but I'll have a look at them thumb.gif

I prefer Corsair and if you have the money Seasonic has the best PSUs. Get a Corsair if you don't want to spend a lot or get a Seasonic for awesome performance. It depends if you want a modular PSU too.

One question though, why do you need such a big PSU for HDDs and an optical drive?

Unless you're looking to spend a lot or thinking of upgrading soon a CX 500 V2 is a good PSU and isn't very expensive. I say unless you want a bigger PSU or are going to upgrade a 500w PSU would work well with what you have.

Corsair: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027 5 SATA

Silverstone: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256061 4 SATA

Corsair GS500: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139033 6 SATA

Silverstone Strider: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256065 6 SATA
