This is my VNC question, on the part where you have to put in the address it needs IPort #:#, how do i find the number on my computer at home to put into VNC. I am on Cable internet

if you are not behind a router then simple click START goto run and type CMD and hit ok .. it will pop open a dos prompt command box.. in that box type ipconfig and hit ENTER it will pop up your info

if you are behind a router of some sort.. you can either .. log into your router and check the address from there.. or you can log on to something like an irc channle and dns yourself or whois yourself to find out.. or you can type whats my ip into a search engine and you can find a site that will tell you your ip

VNC uses 5900. If you want VNC to work for your home computer, you have to forward the port 5900 to your internal IP from your router. I suggest making your internal a static address. Then install your VNC server on your PC and make sure it's started. Then from your school you would type in your router's external IP address. I would suggest setting up a dynamic dns account and that way you could have like xviosx.dyndns.org instead of an IP that changes every month.

True. The default, though, is 5900.
