What I think you should do is to determine what exactly you define by case mod. Simply visuals or building custom shaped PC.
If it's custom case I would go as I said with claptrap or red loot chest. Both could be made with astonishing details and usability. i.e. Chest opens like in game with hard drives rack on shelf and usb devices on second shelf.

If it's more like decal/paint I would go with those moded x-boxes.
In case if it's your sig rig you could easy make borderlands logo on side. You got circle in place. I would put leds inside in shape of logo instead of painting it, probably. Need to see how it looks first.
New-U station look as front of PC with small lcd screen showing temps/OC/Usage.

As you see you should come up with general idea of what exactly you are doing and budget.


Making borderlands logo on side panel would be my first move on this.

Thanks mate, planning to use heaps of orange xigmatek fans, (and this will be more of a decal thing with me having to cut out bits of the case however if i think of something good i will change shape, dont have much money though) anyway, am planning to use an antec three hundred (cheap and decent size) and cutting out the side panel in a jagged shape then placing a window behind it then creating a borderlands logo shaped 200mm fan mount to go over the top.
The other side panel i am still yet to decide on i want to have the gearbox emblem (no writing) on it but not sure whether to cut it out from the case or cut it out of metal then mount on side.
I really want this case to be very different to the one you posted i dont want huge things taking it over but i want it to be something that will appeal to people who have played the borderlands games, i want things liek the viva la robolution posters and stuff.
I like the idea of a NEW U station on front but i dont entirely understand how it would work, once again i dont have very much money and need to keep costs to a minimum whilst making this case look AWESOME thanks for the ideas and keep them coming thumb.gif



also could you link me to an lcd screen that you recommend? thanks.

Something like this one. I remember seeing more of those, this is just something to give you general idea. No idea how much it will cost, but idea is to "play" with colors so that when you look at PC you would see pole and that screen like it is New-U station smile.gif Adding "stick" on top of pc would be necessity too.

looks great but unfortuenatly you cant mount that one in the case it has to sit outside which wouldnt really work for a new u station

These are just for reference. You'll need to find one that matches New-U colors or paint it yourself. And, as I imagined it, screen shouldn't be sitting inside case but be attached to it to make an illusion/look more like screen attached to pole, ideally without enclosure.

Definitely go for red/orange/yellow and get a picture of the guy and cut a window where there is a hole beside his head so you can see the insides

Another thing, be sure to make everything that stands out blend well together. This sound obvious but a mod can turn out awfully plain looking if it doesn't 'pop' or looks jumbled. In DiNet's first picture the borderlands computer had the vent thing up top, of course clap trap on the side, and the great looking orange / grey caution stripes on the corner. It blends very well, which is hard to do.

What I would think is awesome is a case that is clap trap. Or perhaps based on one object that really says borderlands. Like the vending machines! They're already fairly case shaped rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the suggestions but to be honest i didnt like the case DiNet posted i think that the claptrap and the other side were too over the top and i want my case to be something that has lots of little things that really appeal to people who have played the game like the crimson lance logo and other in game things vending machine idea is good however and i like that. please remember that i have limited tools and money but thanks for all the ideas hopefully i can get round to starting in a couple of weeks or so
