I need help. How do I take off this fan?

I unclamped those white things, but the fan doesn't come off, it's not screwed in from the bottom.

Try using a blow dryer on it for a little bit till it warms up then twist off gently.

First, you want flip both of those white levers on the top that are keeping it secure. When you have done that you will notice that there are four hooks or black legs that you need to unhook on each corner which will then enable you to lift the heatsink/fan right off....Take your time and use common sense... its really easier than it looks..

Are you just trying to use the fan and discard the heatsink? Cause that needs both heatsink and fan in place for it to mount on right and cool cpu.. They are custom made so if you just want the fan then you'll have to get another heatsink/fan for your processor...

What is your motherboard? I can tell you everything from that... But I'm pretty sure you have socket 478, P4 2.66ghz with 512kb cache and 533mb FSB, you will probably need DDR ram....

I have no clue, what motherboard. I don't have the papers for it.
How do I tell?
