Z77 OC memory - Any better than Trident 2400 Mhz ? (Same price)

Hi

Looking at some new memory, that will be running with a Z77 motherboard, a i7-3770k and watercooling ...

Going to use them for Benchmark, and some high 24/7 settings ...

Looking at 8GB kits (2x4GB), and right now the Trident 2400 Mhz looks great in there price range.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?280533-G.SKILL-TridentX-2400MHz-modular-great-and-cheap-99

Cost arorund 90 Euro - Is there any better in that price range ?

Regards Henrik

The samsung are great for price/performance, can't really beat it for 24/7 system. The only reason to look at a more expensive/higher performance kit would be for benchmarking. The trident kit he's looking at should be able to run higher speed with tighter timings than the samsung can, although outside of benchmarks it won't be that noticeable. Depends on the individual if the higher scores are worth more $.
Some people have gotten the samsung to the same speed/timings as the patriot kit linked, although not many so might depend on a lucky kit for that.

OP, there are some 2400Mhz 9-11-9 kits out there although I think they were more expensive than the tridents you are looking at, the tridents are pretty good for the price.

Just watch out, this review: http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/Review/302248,gskill-trident-x-2400mhz-ram-review---not-up-to-enthusiast-grade.aspx got a kit which didn't work on the advertised settings. Although apparently the US versions work better, so you may be fine...
