I want to block some programs from the internet and I have declared 2 blocking incomming and outgoing rules for them with the Windows 7 firewall to no avail? Everytime I try to open my program it can connect to the internet? Currently I'm using the proprietary Windows 7 firewall control program but it's has an anoying popup whenever a blocked programs tries to connect to the internet. I didn't find a way to disable the pop-up and I don't want it at all. My question is there a decent Windows 7 firewall for free easy to manage like the Windows 7 firewall control program? How does it comes that the internal Windows 7 firewall doesn't work? It would help my to find the IP adress of the server from the program, so I can block it with my host file but I don't know if its a better solution then a firewall?
