Yep, same thing here.

The drive itself was fine for me, but the box as you can see was a bit dinged up.
You could still fit that box + bubblewrap into a UPS padded pack if you really wanna roll like that - personally I'd still prefer a box though.

Worked in a shipping dept for about 4 years through college so I can say this: Busch League Newegg, Busch League.

I think that it is funny that a few of my M4s came shipped the same way and I have not a single crease, dent, or fold on the boxes.

Yeah, mind shipped the same way without a single imperfection....granted I didn't give it a thorough look, haha.

There should be an option for a better packaging (you have to pay more) at checkout so that those cry babies won't be crying anymore

At amazon you can choose how your items would be packed right? I remember there is a frustration free packaging.

I almost would agree with this. But it won't stop them from crying, they'll just ignore the option and use normal shipping still... rolleyes.gif

Guys, it doesn't matter if it is a SSD or a glass vase. The item(s) need to be properly packaged.

Imagine I were to sell you a brand new 7990. I haven't opened it (seals aren't cut) and the card is unused. But when I show you a picture of the box and it looks like I threw it off a 4 story building. Are you still going to buy my item? I said it was new.

No. My point is that when it is properly packaged it shouldn't look like that.

I sold a used Seasonic PSU several months ago to a member here. He sent me a message that it came all banged up but thankfully due to my PROPER packaging job, it didn't suffer any damage.

The way Newegg does some of their packages is atrocious. A few pieces of brown paper to hold a 10 lb. item? Don't think so.

It was packaged properly.

If I was going to buy your card, be it unopened or not, that looked like someone threw it off a 4 story building... well I wouldn't. I'm not that dumb. And this isn't about buying used products where the box has already previously lost all of it's structural integrity ( and apparently dropped off of a 4 story building ) and then be subjected to even more from shipping in an already weakened state.

In a case like that I would ask that the card be checked before even concidering buying it.

There is a HUGE difference between shipping something in a box that still has it's structural integrity, and shipping a box that's already been completely obliterated by a 40 foot plus fall. As well as the huge difference from selling a new item and selling an already obliterated item.

This package was packaged properly. The box did it's job in protecting the item plain and simple. The box in the OP honestly isn't beat up that bad, he doesn't even have a dent, he barely has a crease. He's just crying because the box isn't perfect for him to "show it off" on his shelf. I've seen much worse damage done to packages in plenty of retail stores shipping where there is no argument that it is packaged properly with full WOOD CRATES.

"free shipping" on most of the items... you wonder why?

gotta cut costs somewhere.

if your really going to get into this argument and complain about worring about getting your packaged obliterated then just go to a store and buy your stuff.

Cost less per product vs Store Modeled Perfection product.

why do you think retailers sell "open box" items for less? its because its no longer appealing to model to a customer, and usually made to sell to backend users who don't care how a box looks.

If you really want to go to extremes of packing do this,

Product > foam peanuts > box > foam peanuts > box > foam Peanuts > box... etc, untill you have enough layers to keep your self satisfied.
