I disagree, 2X8 GB runs just as fast as 4 X 4 and it leave the OP with room to upgrade in the future. and also leave room for higher overclocking potential ( probably not noticeable on this rig)

So will an 850 psu be enough for two 670s down the road? Just want to be sure

Ohbby I always am wubsmiley.gif:

Case: NZXT SWITCH 810 Matte Black

Mobo: ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79

Processor: i7-3930k

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
[Get 1866Mhz CL9 to CL11]

SSD: Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD1CCA 2.5" 256GB SATA III
[Really? Get a 120Gb SSD, it's cheaper and you really dont need 256Gb of space]

HDD: Two WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6GB (in RAID)
[Better to get 1 WD Black for other applications/games that you dont want on your SSD and a 2TTB WD Green for storage]

Graphics: EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2GB (One for now, eventually two)
[Look for the back-plate version as back-plates = awesome]

PSU: Corsair HX750 / Corsair AX750 / Corsair HX850 / Corsair AX850 / XFX750XXX / XFX850XXX / Antec HCP750 / Antec HCP850 / SeaSonic X750 / SeaSonic X850

Monitor: Already own

Keyboard: Already own

Mouse: Already own

Blu-ray: Dont get it.

Cooling: Look at something like the H100 or RX360 loop.

You can run your proposed rig off of 650w, 850 is more than enough.

Though this is true, to have the most efficient power consumption possible, running the PSU at 50% load is ideal, and a 650W would be pushing it at load with 2 670's.

AX850 (modular) or HX850 (Semi modular I think) you'll be good to go for future build down the road as well. I believe the AX series comes with a 7 year warranty.

So...after reading the suggestions:
Case: ................................................................
Mobo: GIGABYTE G1.ASSASSIN2 LGA 2011 Intel X79
Processor: i7-3930k
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate(64 bit)
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 24GB 240 Pin DDR3 1600
SSD: Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD1CCA 2.5" 256GB SATA III
HDD: Two WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6GB (in RAID)

PSU: ..................................................................
Monitor: Already own
Keyboard: Already own
Mouse: Already own
Blu-ray: ..................................................................

So changed the mother board and went with the assassin which actually is better since I kinda have a green/black theme going in my head. Got the crucial since dropping the 990x saved some back and got a 256gb instead. Still unsure on the case then. I am debating doing water cooling even though I have never done it before. Bad idea?
Hey! That looks pretty good :thumb.gif: ..a LOT better than your first post biggrin.gif
For PSU hmm..I'd say a good 800-850w unit (If you plan to overclock) This is one of the least expensive (Enermax)

^pick one of those
and..the RAM..If you want some better RAM....I'd recommend this:

oh oh..and instead of 1 256GB ssd..Why not 2 128 GB ssds in RAID 0? sonic.gif

The Corsair Hydro series should be easy to set up. Never been under water, prefer air cooling (because of lower price lol).
How much are you planning to spend on the case?
Nice choice for the SSD.

Edit: Consider the Corsair TX850 for your PSU. The TX lineup has a good reputation.

Case - $149.99
RAM - 149.99
For the small cost difference, I'd go with all of the Corsair products I listed above for your first build,
especially for the PSU at least, (7 year warranty i think)
Because of Corsairs Trusted Reliability and AMAZING Warranty.
But that's just my opinion
179
(and you get these pretty stickers)
REASONS:
SSD
The GT does 4KB 80,000 IOPS , the OCZ Agility only does 50,000
4KB IOPS are important for what you'll be doing.
PSU
Trusted Reliability and excellent warranty
Case
I realize this is more personal preference, but I can't stress enough how well built Corsair cases really are.
Memory
I've never used that particular memory, but if this is your first build, neither have you, so my PERSONAL preference would be the corsair RAM because i've had nothing but good news to says about it.

What this guy said, I must admit that I'm a total Corsair fanboy but his reasoning is great. Corsair make great quality everything, my next build is going to be an all Corsair Build (or at least as much as they have at the time I'm going to build it) tongue.gif.
