well, witth the Deep Cool Dracula you can use the black cooling aluminium plate of the GTX480. Also it's the best VGA Cooler outthere and the quietest. wink.gif

When doing the mod do you have to modify the body of the cooler to cool the memory, or can you just run the card without the body?

I might be able to fit the Dracula into my computer, but it would be pretty inconvenient. I cheaped out and bought a micro ATX motherboard, so my wireless card would no longer fit on the board if I buy that cooler. The SATA connectors would be annoying too. Do you know if powerline could replace my wireless?

You won't have to mod your card. You can buy Dwood's Bracket so you can cool the VRMs.

That is awesome. The only things I am hesitant about are that that would require me to bolt brackets to the card that aren't nearly as idiot proof as professional coolers, and that it looks like I would need to use heat sinks with thermal adhesive, which make me nervous.

Nope, bracket comes with 4 screws. Very simple, very easy. What do you mean use heat sinks with thermal adhesive? On the vrms or?

I would have liked to use that stock black thing that cools the VRMs. I've heard way too many horror stories about VRM and memory heat sinks falling off; that's why I first liked the VF3000f; it has a heat sink that you screw on. I'm probably just being paranoid.

You are tongue.gif

Kuhler will drop the load temps 20c easily, the 92mm fan on the bracket will cool the vrm's and vram very very well. Oh I see what you mean, you can leave it there and just grab the Kuhler bracket (not the Kuhler and 92mm fan in one bracket)

Does the stock fan work without the cooler's shell? It doesn't seem like it would.

Not poss with the stock 480 cooler but is with the 470 tongue.gif
480 cooler top is closed, 470 is open.

It should, I just can't tell you with 100% vindication. You have a 480 like this don't you. I'd ask in the thread, but if that fan is powered through the PCB, obviously yes, hard to imagine it not being.
