HELP!! 85 degrees celcius surfing the web!!! i7 930 stock!!!!!!! - Page 5

You will probably have to strip the PC down to it's component parts, to get the cooler on, if you aren't fairly confident to do it right, then don' start !

IMHO

dunx

P.S. Just about everything you need to understand could be found on Youtube somewhere...

Good luck, and please take your time during the install. It's really simple, and it will make more sense once you watch a how-to video on youtube.

I would highly reccomend you buy 90%+ alcohol as it will dry and clean better. You could also pick up some Arcticlean if you want the best wink.gif. The reason for a lint free cloth is that it wont leave fluff or dust from the cloth behind which could interfere with it's cooling effectiveness. Alcohol or a TIM(Thermal Interface Material) clean kit is a must but you could probably get away with the cotton bud. You will need to remove your board from the case to install that backplate for your socket 1366

as a quick fix..you could put a thin layer of chapstick on your cpu and use the stock cooler..make sure all the push-pins are snapped in..also go into BIOS and make cpu fan runs 100% all the time

I'm apprehensive of this. Wax has a really low thermal conductivity.
