The difference is huge. I can see it noticeably. Once you try 120 Hz monitor it is really hard to go back to 60 Hz.
Movement with 120 fps is much smoother and much more comfortable than 60 fps. I feel mouse lag sometimes with 60 fps that I don't notice with 120.
However me personally I don't see a difference between 65 fps+ vs 120 fps.
So this really nulls the theory that human eyes can't see above 60 fps.

Mouse movement feeling more snappier dont mean 120hz is a difference.. Try using a pad and see.

Thats what most people say , I like to play surround ( and surround 120 is out of the question $$) but I went to a friend of mine and played on his 120 and its hard to say its night and day but its definitely sharper and faster, its like having high def HD , like HD but cleaner and faster. If its worth the money is another hard question , depends how much money you have/make , in my case and probably a lot of people its the same as skipping a night out for supper and the movies with the wife and kid .. one evening vs, new monitor.. plenty of other evenings in the future !

i wonder how many people voting no have never owned a 120 hz monitor. probably all of them.

you have to be 95 years old to not notice 120 hz over 60hz gaming.

I clearly see a difference between the two, but the key thing here is having the GPU horsepower to actually pump 120fps at all times.

I went from being an above average player in Trackmania: Canyon, to full on pro in a couple months with my BenQ monitor. It's borderline cheating! biggrin.gif

Or they really might not notice a difference. I sim race and I'm good at it. Sponsored and won quite a bit of cash. I'll get hardware that will make me a faster driver. I've tried 120Hz monitors, and they didn't make me any faster or more consistent. Like I said earlier, the biggest change I noticed was with the smoothness of the mouse cursor. They also had a tiny bit less ghosting than the Dell IPS panels I have now, but I'd rather have a touch of ghosting and much better image quality.

Maybe they make more of a difference in FPS games. I'm merely average at those though, so I don't feel qualified to say yes or no when it comes to that.

some games just don't have 120hz support.

payday heist is one of those games. It'll show 90fps max with afterburner, but it isn't 90fps. it's stuck at 60hz. i'm not sure about your sim game.

also, 120hz won't make you a beast in games. if you're good, you're good. the question is, do you notice the difference in 120hz from 60hz.
