So which is better? Sennheiser hd 380 pro or hd 558? I'm gonna use it for music, gaming, and movies, basically all around, i'm only renting a room that's why i can't have a home theather system.

EDIT- suggest me any good headphone, can be other than sennheiser, budget is up to 200

I don't know the HD 380 Pro, but my HD 555 is very good. smile.gif

Will you benefit from the closed back (outside noise isolation) on the 380 Pro?

Well, i am a night person, im awake till 6am, lol, i don't want to disturb others so yes i think i will benefit from a closed design, but if the sound quality is a lot better on an open design then i would love to have that instead.

I went to best buy the other day and tried the fitment of th hd 380, i was amazed, it fits comfortably, i'm ready to ditch my logitech g930 but i can't decide which one to buy

Then lets change the 555 to 558. Genres? Im not really sure what genres are those but i listen to metallica, bon jovi, firehouse, linkin park, etc.

Are you set on the Sennheisers? There are some other almost universally well-known and loved closed headphones such as the Audio-Technica ATH-M50, or Shure SRH840. Might wanna check these out too. wink.gif

Though keep in mind, open headphones will only disturb those on the same room as you, there's absolutely zero chance of disturbing someone in another room... If you do, you're probably hurting your ears.

Not really set on senheisser, are there better out there? I think Open design would be fine. My budget is up to 200.

Hard to say. Everyone has their opinions on these stuff. I just wanted to open your mind to other models as well. tongue.gif

Ideally, you should test each one and decide yourself, but I know this is usually not possible.

You can't got terribly wrong with any of these.

EDIT: What is your source btw? Just be careful of some hard-to-drive headphones like the Beyerdynamic DT770...
