Yes it does but a pitty it didnt work. Take out your optical drive and see if you can atleast boot into the HDD. Also disable the floppy drive.

I have a HD with Linux Redhat on it, this will drop straight into the machine, will I be able to open the setup XP disc from Linuz somehow?

The linux disk boots?

you did set the CD-Rom as primary boot device?

No, I havnt installed linux, I installed it on another hard disk ages ago, and if I put this is the pc it will boot to linux. As linux can be droped into any machine, so can I run the XP setup.exe from linux?

No no luck.

There is no reason why it isnt booting. The post screen is below, and it clearly shows the CD Drive and the HD there. But it just ignores the fact there is a bootable CD in the drive.

is the CD-ROM set as a boot device in the BIOS? (that is, if the BIOS actually supports bootable ATAPI drives, but I don't think the rig is *that* old.. LOL)
