£1000 Budget, What Should I Build... Any Suggestions?

Hey there,

I have a budget of £1000 and I am currently confused on what components I should get for my build...
The pc I am building will be mainly used for gaming, Photoshop, multimedia and some after effects....

I want to know what you guys out there think is best...

I live in the UK so I will only buy from online shops that are mainly based in the UK.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Hmm, interesting conundrum. Wonder what I can come up with for £1000

Lets see! This is roughly 1500$ so il post back with a build smile.gif

Build I decided on for this cap, lets see how you like it.

99$ CASE: Fractal Design Arc Midi Black
209$ MOBO: ASUS Maximus V Gene LGA 1155
239$ CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
139$ RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB
419$ VIDEO: EVGA 02G-P4-2678-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW 2GB
144$ SSD: SAMSUNG 830 Series 128GB
149$ PSU: SeaSonic M12II 850 SS-850AM 850W

Gives you some room to pick out a good optical drive, a mechanical HDD. Personally, I would go with a 3770K and call it a day. thumb.gif

Reason I picked the case with this type of board is so you have room to watercool later on smile.gif

Do you need everything, or do you already have mouse keybaord and monitors (MKM)

Hey, be more than happy to throw a few ideas around, but I'm just wondering if you could give us some more ideas:

I this a £1000 with a monitor, mouse, keyboard etc... or just £1000 for the tower?

Do we need to factor in a case or do you have one you could use?

Do you prefer water cooling or air cooling or either would be fine?

Do you have a graphics card preference - nvidia or amd?

How much space do you want - do you have any HDDs you could reuse?

Will you be overclocking? (probably a pointless question to ask on this forum).

Off the top of my head I'm thinking something along the lines of:

i5 2500k
8gb ram
850w PSU
Z68 motherboard
1 - 2 TB HDD
128gb SSD
560 (sli maybe) / 570 / 580

Have a look at the screenshot of something I put together in about 10min without too searching for the best deal...I only used one website lol
Capture.PNG 148k .PNG file

Do keep in mind however that US prices are much more favourable than UK prices when it comes to hardware, regardless of the exchange rate.

I also came up with a similar build but one of my problems was that this case did not have a window other than that I thought it was perfect. Another difference in our build was the SSD and PSU,where i had chosen to go with a Corsair Force GT 120GB and a Corsair ax650 because in the UK finding a seasonic PSU is hard... Finally I also thought of the I7 3770K...

Do keep in mind however that US prices are much more favourable than UK prices when it comes to hardware, regardless of the exchange rate.

- The £1000 budget is for the tower only as i already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers... however if i do save money i will be selling what i have and buying new ones if not ill save up more in the coming few months and get them replaced...

- I want the case to have a window if that is possible and also I don't mind if it was white or black case however i don't want it to be shiny... something similar to the look of the Corsair cases...

- I am going to go with air cooling, however for the CPU im considering the H100 or the H80... Maybe in the future i will do a full water cooled set up

- I don't mind if its an AMD or NVIDIA... But i would want something Price = Performance and also I also want it be GEN3 so i can be future proof...

- I already have 500gb HDD that i will be using but i will be needing an SSD nothing less than 120gb...

- Yes i will be overclocking

and yes the US price is so much cheaper compared to UK frown.gif

Thanks i appreciate the help
