Should I Upgrade?

I've had the bulk of my current setup since November of 2009. I just upgraded my GPU not too long ago, but that's about it.

CPU: Intel i5 750 @ 2.67GHz ~ 3.8GHz
MB: EVGA P55 SLI E655
GPU: EVGA GTX 560 Ti Classified 448 Cores (890/2050)
RAM: G.SKILL RipJaws 8GB (2X4GB) (11-11-11-28)
CPU Cooler: ZALMAN CNPS10X Extreme 120mm CPU Cooler
PSU: Zalman 750W
HD: Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB
Case: Antec 900

CPU-Z Validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2402337

My primary uses are gaming (CoD Series, Diablo 3, ARMA 2) and heavy web browsing.

Would be nice to get some opinions and/or thoughts on this. I think the most touched on subject will be the CPU, but we'll see. Any and all input is appreciated.

Aside from upgrading your mobo/cpu, I would highly recommend an SSD boot drive, especially considering that you're running off a caviar green currently. It wouldn't make a huge difference in games, but it makes the overall computing experience so much more enjoyable.

Other than being 'obsolete' its a fine build still. It's up to you if you want to spend the money to upgrade it fully. I personally wouldn't. An SSD on the other hand would be a good addition.

What should I upgrade to as far as MB/CPU go? And SSD? My primary use is gaming/web browsing. I'm not looking to take down houses with this thing.

Yeah, it is obsolete, but that stands true with any computer product pretty much over a year old since manufacturers are always pumping out new technology. It's an awful buyers market! What SSD would you recommend?

For both: it's also VERY important to note that I will be going off to college in a year and most likely will be purchasing a MacBook Pro of some sort. I'm aware it probably is frowned upon here, but I prefer the simplicity, reliability, and durability of it compared to other laptops I've looked at and I'm pretty familiar with Apple products.

Whether you should upgrade depends on what you want. If you want higher gaming performance upgrade your GPU, your I5 750 is still a good CPU and will not bottleneck a GTX 680. Last week I was running an I5 760 with a GTX 680, and that GPU performed exactly the same in benchmarks as it does with my new CPU. You also have a big enough PSU and enough RAM. Basically, for gaming, upgrading your motherboard and processor will not make much difference.

My mobo/cpu comment was more in response to this:

The upgrade path for this really depends if you want to spend the money.

The SSD, however, I highly recommend. The Crucial M4 series SSDs I have heard only positive things about, and they are less than $1/GB now, which is a steal for the performance. I would recommend the 120GB drive because you really shouldn't need more than that for a boot drive with a few games.

So I made a mistake by going with the 560 Ti Classified? I did this a few months ago in hopes for a marginal upgrade compared to my previous card (GTX 275).

I also overclocked the 560 Ti Classified to 890/2050 @ 1.025V from 797/1950 @ 1.013V, but I know that won't account for a drastic difference in performance.

No. He's just saying your cpu is good enough for any gpu out there. The 560ti is a great card.

No not a mistake, the 560 Ti is better than a 275.
My point was, if you want more gaming performance then I would upgrade the GPU first, the rest of your system can handle it, it won't bottleneck a top GPU.

Ah, okay. Gotcha.

With that being said, would an upgrade to this from my current CPU call for a significant performance upgrade? And if I was to go through with that, what MB would be best?
