Should I Upgrade? - Page 2

I'd say that from a "value" standpoint, there isn't much reason to upgrade as the benefit of a Ivy system wouldn't be that big and not enough to cover the costs. That i5, especially overclocked, is plenty capable of maxing out that GTX560Ti.

Now in terms of just being fun to build a new rig, then it would be worth it. A new Z77 motherboard and 3570K would be fun to drop in and start overclocking and the extra performance would still be nice despite not being worth it dollar for dollar.

Bottom line: money tight? Don't do it. Got the cash? Do it.

Money isn't tight, but if I don't need to spend it, I won't haha.

Probably going to stick with what I have. I only have a year of it left anyway!

Thanks guys.

With that being said, would an upgrade to this from my current CPU call for a significant performance upgrade? And if I was to go through with that, what MB would be best?

You will probably see a small performance increase in games. For just gaming a 3770 is a waste of money, a 3570K will do exactly the same.

Go with the 3770K if you decide to do this. Although, unless you plan on doing video editing, 3d modeling, rendering, or other crazy cpu intensive stuff, go with a 3570K instead. $100 cheaper and usually performs the same or slightly better in games.

I still say getting an SSD is far more important than upgrading your cpu/mobo.

There ya go. You've still got an extremely potent rig that is capable of maxing out anything at 1920x1080. Nothing wrong with sitting on it at all.

I have a small issue...I bumped up the voltage to 1.025V on my 560 Ti Classified and it's not staying...it keeps reverting to 1.013V if I don't apply it through Precision X...can anyone help with that?

That pc is pretty solid. you can hold off from upgrading. I only upgraded my gfx card cus i was forced to sell my 6970. Your cpu's fine for gaming @ 3.8ghz. @ 1080p.

Precision x is supposed to be better than MSI afterburner @ getting the gfx card to hold voltages underload, but I havent tested it myself yet. as long as it isnt creating instability, you should be okay with voltages dropping.

Problem is, it was creating instability. I run CoD4 at 250 FPS constant in promod and it dipped to 130 constant...something was definitely up.
