Moniter Issues

So, earlier this day I decided to clean out my pc with compresses air. Before hand everything was working fine, but now I when I go to plug my monitor in it responds with "No Signal". I tried connecting the monitor to my Hp Mini and it worked fine! I guess it's not really a monitor problem, but do you have any idea why it's not working? (Plus I use a DVI adapter for my pc)

Did you try re-plugging the DVI adapter to your GPU, and making sure your GPU is properly seated?

"still connected". No ... re-seat the GPU. If you moved the case, there is a chance it could have slipped out. Go double-check that the GPU PCI-e power cables are properly snapped in place, etc.

Troubleshooting steps, in no particular order:
1. Try using a different type of connection. (HDMI, VGA)
2. Check video cable ends for smalls crumbs or anything that could mess up the connection.

Another thing I'm not too sure of ... did you take your computer outside ? Did you move it ?

Yeah, I made sure everything was align'd nothing was moved whatsoever. And yes, I moved my PC into another room, also I don't have any other available connections, vga to dvi is all I can do...

I hate being so stubborn about this but did you take out all the cables and plug them back in, and re-seat the GPU ?

Even though it "looks" like it's aligned, it could have been bumped out just enough to not supply the GPU with power, or to lose contact between two pins, etc

Did you make sure your monitor was on digital? redface.gif

Besides a funky connection or a dislodged GPU, I'm not sure what you could have done. Only other scenario is you fried something with static but at this point I really don't want to contemplate that sadsmiley.gif

Dit your compressed air came in a can ?
If yes:
Have you maybe sprayed some of that liquid stuff whats in the can onto some parts in your PC ?

I just removed all the cables and made sure everything was in place, and it was. After plugging it all back in, still no luck, I feel I have to contemplate that I have damaged something.

Yeah I have, but when I seen the liquid setting, I made sure it wasn't wet, and it wasn't, so I didn't think it would do harm.

Even a little amount "could" cause a problem.

You have 2 6850's ?

Try running with 1 and try different slots.
