In Diablo II there was absolutely no risk, as long as you used a payment you could trust (I.E paypal, actually going through them). You buy items on website, they email you the account name and password, and have a character on it with all the items. They never know what your account is, so you'd have to sign up to their website with the same email/password.

Not exactly gold farmers. http://www.d2jsp.org/ nor is it that sketchy in the grand scheme of things.

Yes this! It was like shady people/bots on d2, now it's like blizzard are saying yes now it's legal and ok to bot and control the ah etc.

Hm I didn't get my point across to well their but you get what I mean =p
Blizzard are basically making it easier for the people to buy from the bots/professional farming peoples.

After seeing what happened in the past don't you think they'd possibly have their own farming operation like this going on? ...or something?

It's like the real money AH would benefit them more than anybody else, right? So that's kinda how my logic's flowing on that one anyway...

Not to say I blame them, but real money AH's sound preposterous to me anyway. I don't need to spend more on your game, 9/10's the reason why I quit WoW back in the day.

Aside from simple morality, what's to stop Blizz themselves from creating uber-items, and then posting them on the RMAH?
They would get the entire purchase price without even caring about farmers and random drops.

Or they can dupe the system, make 500 free simple weapons and make profit and THEN buy the better stuff off the AH. Easy win.

My guess is after trying to fight it for 10 + years in their games they realized no matter how much against the rules it is and how much some people hate it/dislike another large portion of their community is still going to want it/do it. So might as well profit of it instead of waisting money trying to stop what you can't stop completely anyway. Atleast that's how I see it, I guess I can see the conspiracy of them selling very good items that they generate themselves, but I doubt it.

That would be hilarious, I never even thought of them doing that.
Would be an amazing way to get even more money, not that they need it with the sales figures anyways tongue.gif

I am never going to make any money on the ah >_>
Two 60's on inferno and a 40 on nightmare, and I have yet to have a legendary drop </3

Yeah the release was poor.

Server issues, lies about hotfixes, hotfixes making Hardcore characters die. Inferno wasn't tested before release. Unfinished game on release. Auction House running on system clocks.
