You knew what you were buying and if you didn't, that is still completely your fault."

Yup. If you're buying Apple, you have to accept the pros and cons and not complain about it afterwards. smile.gif I will not be purchasing, but the repairability on these systems keep on going down.

Seeing as ergonomically you should be 15-30" away from the display to minimize eye strain and that most people do not sit with their faces glued to their monitors/displays, I would say that your issue sounds much more like a personal issue, than any over-hype by Apple. Sounds to me, like he has vision problems. 6-8" your face would get warm from the screen lol

And I can see the individual pixels on a 15" 1440x900 monitor from 6-8 inches and my vision is no where near perfect.

I'm sure it went down in a similar fashion to this over a period of time in Cupertino CA...

Steve Jobs "The audacity!!! Hot laptop??? this isn't hot at all, I could withstand much higher temps than this!!! Wimps the lot of them!

Why are you sitting so close to a 15" monitor? The whole "retina" specification is a function of viewing distance and pixel density... You don't have to have an Apple product to get the same effects. I understand that people in this thread are harping on the same nonsense just to bash anything-Apple, but lets not get carried away with marketing lexicon. You're sitting 6-8 inches away from a screen that you're supposed to be sitting 18-36" away from... I'm surprised you can't see molecular structure of the pixels.

This thing is nice and the resolution is great, but $2200 is too much money for my tastes. I would totally be satisfied with a 2056x1536 MBP, 4GiB DDR3L, and a 128GB SSD for $1500. Perhaps for a 13" MBP provided they're still making one?

OT: I love your Avatar wink.gif

I don't I usually sit around 12-15 inches away from a 15" monitor. Right now I am using a 32" monitor @1920x1080 and I'm sitting 46" away from it. I also know you don't need an Apple product for the "retina" effect, I just want one because for me personally I don't want a gaming laptop or an underpowered ultrabook. Granted the MBP Retina costs a lot more than a normal ultrabook but I would still take it over anything else.

I'm sure they are going to make a 13" MBP Retina in a few months seeing as from what I have seen in public the 13" MBP is the most popular. I would say with those specs you have in the last sentence $1.5K would seem about right for a 13" MBP retina,

Ugh... It's hard enough gaming on a 15" screen as it is... Can't imagine trying it at that resolution honestly.

If you buy one of these to game on then you're an idiot, especially at that res with a GT650m For $2.2K you can do so much better for a laptop to game on.
