What do you suggest I do, it's me who did all of that configuration, do you think it has something with the long cables too or is it one of the routers, I think the EA4500 isn't overloaded much, it's got my desktop and my iPad only connected and I've installed a notebook cooling fan under it to avoid any heat problems, it runs cold all the time with the AC on most of the day!

Nooo i mean outside of your lan, from now on your lan is
Landline Cable from wall<8 Meter cable<1 Meter Cable

so when you connect to google

Your lan > First hop somewhere on your street > Local exchnage > fuzzy mess of 12/13 hops for the internet > googles lan

anything outside of your lan could be broken, IE a wire in your streat may have become a bt loose or some other router elsewhere has started to die smile.gif

It could be 2 things, then:

1) Bad routing from your ISP (check if other people with your ISP has same issues)
2) Bad signal on your DSL.

To check for the latter, go looks at the signal statistics by logging in on your router. If it's below or around 6dB SNR on the downstream, it's definitely that, and you need to downgrade your line to get a more reliable signal. If it's at 10dB you can be fairly sure that that is not the problem.

It would not hop to somewhere on his street, unless theres an exchange on his street. All the hops you see are through exchanges.

When I updated the firmware a couple of days ago I saw the DSL Nosie Margin to be down 290dB(I'm not home right now so I can't check), is that value right ?

That sounds incredibly high. Perhaps it was 29.0 dB or 2.90 dB. If it's the former, then you have a good noise margin and it's definitely not your line that's the problem, but rather your ISP. But if it's the latter, your line should barely be working as is. Grab the attenuation values while you're at it, that might help us diagnose the problem further.

He could post his DSL Line Stats.
Also does he have many clients on his Router that he is using?
Is he torrenting or has other people using the connection at the same time?
Also the DSLAM in the area could be getting congestion which is possible or just sub optimal Routing.

This is an Example of DSL Line Stats
