Cable Management - Help a brotha out!

Everytime i try to manage my cables it still looks messy. And the biggest annoyance is the 4pin cable thats straight down the middle of my mobo. I need it plugged in to be able to power up my rig. But ive seen rigs with the same mobo as I and dont use that plug and still be able to power up. And i did my best to run my cables through the back and into the slots but they're all on one side because they dont reach :/

I have a really decent nice computer and id like it to be nice and tidy, so any tips on how i should re cable my stuff would be greatly appreciated thumb.gif

Grab all the cables that connect to the right of the motherboard, (SATA, PCIe, Front Panel connectors etc) and put them through the corresponding cable management whole on the backplate, then pull them as tightly as possible out the back so that there is as little cable showing from the front, then attach to the backplate with cable ties or stuff them in your empty hard drive trays.

You could also try getting a sleeved CPU power extension cable so that it hides those ugly yellow and black cables smile.gif

As for the molex, im afraid there isn't much you can do with it if it won't power on without it. I don't know what ASUS were thinking when they placed the 4pin in the middle of the motherboard like that.. Silly them.

Could you use extension cables for that 4 pin molex and thread it behind the board and have it come out from the sides... rather than have it in the middle??

What do you mean ? Like thread is against the side and right through the middle? And the 4pin is connected to a molex which a 3pin (h100 3pin thing) is also connected to to the mobo

I went on and pulled the cables back and it looked kinda neater smile.gif Thanks. And i might go buy a black power cpu extension. They are ugly like you said. lol. Can you recommend a cheap brand sleeved one (preferably from amazon)? or would it not matter which kind i get.

It wouldn't matter, but most people go for the NZXT Sleeved extension kit, or the Bitfenix Alchemy extension kit.

I don't think the Bitfenix ones are sold on Amazon though to be honest.

This is what i've done with my cables by pulling them as far behind as possible, so only the shortest amount is showing.

Don't mind the cables in the top left. I plan to redo this soon.

In New Zealand, we have Altech.
In USA, Performance PC, Frozen CPU...

I wouldn't recommend NZXT sleeved extensions as they feel a bit too rigid.
Also my mobo extension's one middle single cable just popped out of the connector when trying to attach the extensions first time...

^ I vote buy some cable extensions, Bitfenix makes the best.

This will get rid of your center board eyesoar.
