Am I missing something? Neither of those show the XSPC K2 performance... I can't seem to find a single review on the XSPC K2 paste.

I didn't either but I assumed that since the MX-2 ranked reasonably high, the K2 would be worse because it comes standard with the kit. Usually the ones that come with the kits are not too good.

thats exactly why i quoted/posted the pic. MX-2 ranks pretty high. Usually oem from xspc is lower quality or of mediocre

Whats it for? I've had best results with a thin viscosity paste when I've got either a direct die cooling or lapped cooler. MX2 and MX4 has given me best results but only comparing that to ceramique. Ceramique is sucha super thick paste so it doesn't work well with a very flat/smooth surface. It will literally create a barrier between the die and heatsink because its so thick it cant sufficiently spread out in time before it starts to dry up. Mx2 and Mx4 are really thin pastes and they can easily squeeze out of the way of a mirrior finish lapped cooler and direct die.

Hope that helps.

Any of the top 25+ TIMs will deliver the same temps +/- 1-2C. AS 5 is a top performer and cheap. (Never seen AS 5 messy nor sticky...???) I recommend that people use whatever makes them happy.
