Act quick, there's only been a handful of people filling this out.

This is not my site either. I don't know diddly squat about the apple community. Thought this would help.

I highly recommend no one does this. It's against Apple's ToS and the developer may have his account suspended and your iDevice may be bricked until the official iOS 6 release. (You can't downgrade from iOS 6 either.)

What makes you think you can't downgrade?
Downgrading hasn't been a problem since around the release of iOS4.

Just double checked. No problem here downgrading form iOS6 to iOS 5.1.1.

I don't know about after but during the Beta (and every Beta afaik) it's not possible. From Apple:
Quote:
This version of iOS is intended only for installation on development devices registered with Apple's Developer Program. Attempting to install this version of iOS in an unauthorized manner could put your device in an unusable state, which could necessitate an out of warranty repair.
Devices updated to iOS 6 beta can not be restored to earlier versions of iOS. Registered development devices will be able to upgrade to future beta releases and the final iOS 6 software.

I had no problems downgrading with the exception iTunes wouldn't let me use the latest backup.
It isn't supported but with DFU implemented at a hardware level and the authentication between Apple and iTunes able to be spoofed all is well.

Worse case scenario TinyUmbrella will allow you to downgrade. You can access local backups and manually extract any info you need.

Apple have said that about every single firmware release. Beta or not. It hasn't been true for a while. thumb.gif
