applaud.gifofftopic.gifWAY TO GO ARIZONA WILDCATS!!! offtopic.gifapplaud.gif

Now that the NCAA Mens College World Series is over I can get back to the build...

Started by removing the stock Intel Fan...looks like I may have used a little too much thermal paste
450
700

That's Better...ALL Clean
450

Do you see this backplate on the instructions anywhere???
450

Need to verify the monsoon fittings "fit"
450

Glue from the packaging transferred onto the fittings, but it cleaned up easily with my IPA
450

Looking Good (IMHO)
450

CPU INSTALLED!!! (NOTE:  This was not an easy process...the backplate has 4 small stickers, which didn't stick well to the back of the MOBO)  I suspect I will need to reapply and reinstall later.
450

Red & Blue theme after a bought RED DRAM
450

BACKPLATE (Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy)
450

Pump/Res in the lowest 5.25 Bay (Note: The Top port is the OUTLET)
450

Doesn't align properly because of the notches/fins on the outer ring of the pump
700
450

Used a file to smooth out the notches
450

Rad and Fans are ready
450

Only 12 screws (6-32 X 30mm???)...I will need 12 more
450

A Tube and Plastic Cutter from Home Depot.  I was eager to get started and tired of bad cuts from every other tool.  I should be able to use this for some other home projects in the future.
450

Top Fans installed...really need more screws
450

Bottom Fans
450

FANTOMAU and crazyg0od33:  Thank you for the QDC ideas/suggestions.
450

Ready for the second leak test (already tested outside the case.  I had a leak at the pump/res interface, because I found that the pump o-ring was still attached to the pump housing. Once I added it to the Pump/res no more leaks.

WRONG...Murphy's Law.  Remember I said the top port was the outlet.  As you can see here I have the OUTLET and INLET ports/tubes on backwards.
450

Not too bad for my first water build...lets see if it can actually hold water
450

Water FLOW IS GOOD (over 4hrs)
450

Still have some bubbles in the res, but overall really pleased.
450
PPCs Order Arrives (as of 20 June 2012) (Click to show)
Package from PPCs arrived yesterday. Spent all day at College World Series so I was exhausted last night, but I couldn't just leave a package sitting there...
450
What Goodies to we have here...

Considered Red/Blue as my Scheme so UV Red and UV Blue sleeving/heatshrink

EX360 Kit
450

EX360 Kit
450

Everything
450

Not sure if the SATA and Fan Splitter coloring are going to match/work
450

QDC
450

2 - Y-connectors don't seem to match the 3-way splitters...may need to reorder one of these
450

EX360 Kit accessories - won't need these fittings
450

CPU Block and accessories
450

EX360 Radiator
450

Beautiful RED Monsoon Fittings - Can't wait to by the Monsoon angles and LED lighting fittings
450

Pump
450

PPCs replaced the MP655 w/ Koolance PMP-450 (works for me...same pump but with RPM monitor)
450
Case Install and Setup (as of 11 June 2012) (Click to show)

Getting ready to move from bench to case...
450

Moved Top 140mm Fan to the HDD Cage
450

This Case is begging for Water Cooling Equipment (Previously moved 140mm to front)
700

WOW!!! Can't wait for the wire management part of this build...(READ HEAVY SARCASM)
450

I still like to use Paper Washers between the screws and MOBO for installation
450

MOBO SECURED!
700

Back of MOBO
450

Must have POWER!
450

Snug and Ready
450

Its all about perspective...
700

I think I will put mounting holes for the ODD in Drive Bay 2?
700

Not BAD?
700

It looks good...Right?
450

Used the Drive with coverplate in place to measure up the holes
450

Close, but NO Cigar!
450

Should've Drilled/filed BEFORE the MOBO install
450

That's not TOO bad
450

Let's get WIRED!!!
450

WIRED UP!!!
450

Started Installing Windows and organizing files and HDDs

thumb.gif Nice! Can't wait to see the water. The more I see these switch builds, the more I want to click that buy button. Are you happy with the case so far?

I love the case...only wish I had waited for the Matte Black or Gunmetal. Also, I believe the newer model cases have notched out airways under the top bay to accommodate a push/pull configuration for 360/420mm radiators.

Another Switch build wheee.gif

According to overclock3dnets review on the Switch 810, a 60mm thick rad can be configured for push pull without it hitting the top HDD cage but the problem is poor airflow near that top HDD cage on the white/gloss black which is why the added the cut out notches on the special edition ones. I bought one before the special editions came out too but I plan to cut some holes into that top non removable HDD cage to help airflow around that end fan smile.gif Basically I'm still planning my build and waiting for some cash to roll in to buy parts.

Soon as I get a job and can afford nice watercooling things, I might do a build log on my Switch. Will definitely be keeping an eye on this 8].

What made you go with the exhaust flow pattern you chose? I am in the stages of configuring mine, and really like your lay out, however I was thinking front/back/bot in and top push pull?
