I've had really good luck with both Seagate and WD... haven't had a drive fail on me yet. I also have an external Maxtor thats' been pretty good to me as well.

I've had about 15 Hitachi's fail on me though... (that's what IBM uses in their A series laptops)

i have a 10 gb fugitso, 40gb seagate, 80 WD, 160 WD.... threw all that iv never had one drive fail.. the 10GB is started to get bad sectors though

but i got that drive in 98.. so i cant complain.. probably reformat could make it work but whats the point when iv got a 160 in my desktop, 80 in my server.. and a 40 for traveling with the important ISOs

I'm very fond of my current seagates.

230+ burst, nearly 130 average read and 600GB HDD space? I love these things.
