[Droid-Life] Verizon's new Share Everything Plans in depth

After Verizon dropped their new Share Everything plans on us this morning (aka shared data tiers), it took a minute for us to fully process exactly what we have going here, but we think we have a good grasp on it now. To help everyone understand this new focus on data rather than minutes and texts that goes live June 28, we thought we would lay this out for you in the simplest of ways. Ready?

$100 for 10gb? That price alone means your spending 1200 a year on data. Seems since my first droid(motorola's) Verizon has slowly removed features/services and replaced them with higher prices.

Wow...raping the consumer one at a time now are we....

And this is why it's actually cheaper to buy your phone outright and just use a no contract service. Especially when Verizon MVNO's are wwwaaayyy cheaper.

Page Plus uses Verizon's network and they are $55 per month with unlimited talk, text, and 2GB of data.

Straight Talk is unlimited everything (so it says) for $495 a year or $45 a month.

Glad I switched to Sprint. Also glad that Sprint is going to LTE rather than WiMax. I love completely unlimited data! thumb.gif

There is are defiitely some savings to be had for customers with multiple smartphones already on their monthly bill. Otherwise, thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

$50 for 1gb on a family plan... and this will get you customers how? Verizon has actually been pretty good to me.I've got a grandfathered unlinited data plan and an LTE phone that I'm only paying $20 a month for at the moment. But little by little I see them letting rampant greed make their desicions more and more... not that that wasn't already the case, just I always felt they were a little less %$^#tarded greedy than AT&T and alot more competent with thier network than Sprint

Maybe I am wrong about this so please correct me if I am but this seems really cheap?

Current Verizon Plan:
1 Iphone 4s/1 Samsung Gnex
1500 minutes
unlim text
2gbdata/4gb data

=$200-22% work discount is $175

New Shared Plan:
Smartphones: $40 per device($80)
DATA 6GB for $80 ($80)

Total: $160 - 22% work discount($135)

Even without the discount its saving $40...cheaper than both my previous sprint and AT&T plans. Is my math incorrect or should you guys stop flaming Verizon...
hmmm...
