Two12mm thick fans to replace one 25mm thick fan.

I was thinking about trying two of these 12mm thick fans to replace one 25mm thick fan to see if they performed better than one 25mm fan, has anybody tried this?

I am planing to sandwich my radiator between four of them in push-pull to see what happens.

Hmm interesting concept.
This is just a pure guess, but maybe it wil increase static pressure?
It will probably be louder also since the inner fan will be cutting through more turbulent air.

Interested to see what others say and your results though.

I have two of these fans that I am not using right now, although I doubt they will perform better than one 25mm thick fan. I can hook them up, or sell them to you wink.gif

Because the blades are rotating in the same direction, the improvement will be nothing. My personal guess is airflow will decrease. If it increases, then you need to patent a skinny/staggered blade design.

Now, if the blades rotated in opposite directions (while still pushing air in the same direction), then you'll see an improvement in static pressure and CFM, as well as increased noise.

Similar to the design on many larger fans that are meant for high pressure and med/high cfm.

Like the ones hear I use on my condenser blocks. Notice the solid plastic fins at the front that hold the fan hub, they are set oppositely the main fan blades. These things are also 48V and do over 400cfm biggrin.gif ... And that's why I run them at 24V. Practically so they don't fly away.
