Kuhler Chronicles (Antec 920 Leak - Update 15 - 10/1/12) it's still not over. - Page 14

Update Update

Just realized they didn't pay/refund me, I got an incorrect/partial refund of only 1/3 out of the total payment, the $245 I saw was another one, not for the Kuhler.

Antec still owes me around $150, hopefully this week..

Decisions, decisions... anybody run a Hyper 212+ on a 2600 or 2600K that could give me some temp comparisons?
Best of luck to you! thumb.gif
I run a P280 as my server case and it is a great case. Just replace the generic fans that they put in them and you'll be happy.

Check my sig for the Sandy Bridge Stable Club for temps with a 212+ on many different voltages and frequency!

4.5 with a 2600K on a 212+ are normally fine!

If your going air go for the nzxt havik 140, it is single towered and runs as good if not better than a nhd14. thumb.gif

The Havik is one of the best Single tower coolers, but its definitely not better than a Noctua D14 in terms of temps or noise.

See that's the funny part. I actually run a 2600 (non-K) in the server so my max OC is gonna be like 4.2Ghz (currently 3.8Ghz) and it looks like the Hyper 212+ will fit the bill nicely.

The Havik 140 & D14 look nice too but they are 2x-3x the price if I pick up the 212+ on sale and I'd rather make money off selling the Kuhler and buying the new one if I can. I really need to curb my computer spending...

Are there any other air coolers that I should be considering in the price bracket of the 212+? What about the EVO, is one better than the other? Hows the noise on the 212+?

And as always, thanks. thumb.gif

edit: Forgot to add that I'd prefer it to be silent. I have 2 120MM Scythe Fans I can attach to whatever cooler I end up getting but they run on a fan controller pretty low to stay quiet.

Enermax ETS-T40 T.B. Silence or Xigmatek Gaia. The Gelid Tranquillo is also a great quiet heatsink, but it's a little more expensive. All of those are quieter than the Hyper 212 Plus and provide about the same level of performance.

I know not everyone has the same experience, but I had a 212+ and it was loud as none other. I swapped the fans as soon as I could because they annoyed me to no end.

Yea, family life and all that jazz tongue.gif. I've barely been able to check out OCN these past few days.

I'll be typing up a rather long update today, but good news (at least I think, I've got to call and confirm), maybe.

Sorryfor taking so long.

Update 9:

So the phone call I had thursday did not go so well, and it was a manager call back. I have a bunch of notes, but I've done some thinking and I've decided not to post them out of respect. Some things said were not very agreeable, to put it simply. The way that I've been treated has been terrible customer service, especially after that call. I was fuming well into my companies holiday (friday), but because they got to me before I was able to do my update, I'll let most of it slide.. for now tongue.gif (full page of notes from the conversation). Friday I received this email:
Quote:
Comment: Hi J****,

My supervisor understands your situation and has authorized a shipping label to be given. Please only include the contents you feel where damaged by our product. Also, please reply back with the product and serial numbers to the parts you feel where damaged. Please wait shortly and I will send you a return label via e-mail.

The spelled my name wrong, but that's just a nit-pick that has no real relevance to the discussion (besides that it's a pet-peeve).

Anyways, I've responded via the comment system and I will keep ya'll updated (should be shorter updates so no more major delays/holidays).

Does anyone live/near in the Greenville Metro, SC area? I want to test my CPU/RAM so that I can send the minimum, shipping $500+ dollars through the mail just makes me nervous redface.gif

Thanks again everyone, you words of support have helped me through this first world problem!

(I still need to call and confirm; Phone's open from 10-3pm PST is very bad timing for me, it falls right in the busy parts of my workday)
