The BBB rating is just the viewpoint of one consumer advocacy group based on their experience with each company. It doesn't provide a complete picture of how a company is currently handling customers, but it does provide us some clues that should be considered along with all other available info (e.g. first-hand feedback in forums like this). The real benefit that I see though is the BBB gives us another avenue of dispute resolution when we encounter cases like what Nocturin has gone through.

Regarding Corsair's rating, my guess is they have some blackmarks from the past that are still tainting their rating...much like a credit score. But aside from that, my personal experience with Corsair over the past year and a half has been absolutely fantastic. No hassles at all and everything has been taken care of in a single 5 min phone call. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, regardless of what their BBB rating is.

The BBB is completely worthless as a source of info on a company. Their grade is based on them responding to a customer filing a complaint within a given period of time. If they respond then it matter is considered resolved even if all they did was send you a letter saying "Tough cookies bud!". Also the customer ratings are pretty much useless as the only people who are going to bother to fill them out are those who have gone to the site to file a complaint. This is why some decent companies (perhaps Corsair included) have decided that it's just not worth their time. Others with well known CS issues may have a high(ish) grade due to their responding to complaints. Look at AT&T's "B" if you need proof of that.

Good to see that Antec has come to their senses a bit, but I think I'm off the whole closed loop cooling concept for now.

If the LCS was indeed the issue, I'm going to request one of their air coolers and a partial refund if the performance/size of them is decent enough to not kill my mATX board.

I got off the phone with them about an hour ago and confirmed everything. I'm going to ship everything out next week when I can afford a sturdy box to send everything in. Still hoping to find someone in my area with a 1155 mobo that I can test my CPU/RAM with.

As for my own RMA, I called Corsair and they sent me tracking # and mailed out a brand new cooler to me- should be here early next week.

The CLSs are cool, and look great, but they are a great liability compared to the massive air coolers. That being said, my h70 CORE was about $60 and performs just a little bit worse (2c?) than the D-14 which was $90 so their price/performance is GREAT -IF- you get a solid working one. thumb.gif

Actually I prefer air coolers over water coolers, mainly because I like the look of a big CPU heat sink (no, I'm not compensating for anything biggrin.gif). Water coolers are a bit more risky than air cooler, but I've rarely heard of failures. The highest level coolers all perform at about the same level as far as I can tell, so it's mostly up to preference.

Its more than 2C. The gap gets larger with higher overclocks as well. tongue.gif

H100/D14/SilverArrow/ph-tc14pe all perform about the same. I'll pretty much never bother with a CLC, either Air, or real water cooling which honestly has less of a chance of a leak than these CLC's.

@Nocturin

Glad you finally got that solved. Honestly that was tons of trouble, I would of lost it way earlier.

I wish I had the money to get a custom water loop. the only real cooling option for graphics card other than a custom loop, unfortunately, is a closed loop cooler. How often do leaks like this happen? My solution to leaks was just to position the cooler so no fittings were directly over any PCB. That will make minor leaks survivable, I hope.

dear antec,

I feel disgusted about this. I regret every time I recommend an antec 620 for a custom build. from now on I'm gonna avoid antec products like the plague. corsair's customer service is much better. even here in the philippines they will replace your components if their lcs leaks. that's top notch customer service for you. no other company here in manila can offer that only corsair

Yeah, I've been recommending any good company rather than Antec to anyone who is considering an Antec CLC or PSU. Customer service is important.
