eek.gif I'll look into that, but most likely he didn't use it. And yah I did a secure erase with Parted Magic, so it properly flushed the NAND chips.

You don't have to "turn it on" it just works wink.gif. In fact I believe TRIM support was added in like 2008 and has made it's way into every major distro (even the really slow to change ones like Red Hat). Also Linux is kind to HDDs/SSDs because it only writes to swap when it is actually close to running out of memory whereas Windows dedicates 4GB memory/paging file to basically every app you open by default. Ok in practice it doesn't actually use that much space exactly, but that's how much space each app sees. I'm going into too much detail here, but rest assured your SSD will be better off having spent its early life under Linux. Now you can go ahead and wreck it with Windowz thumb.gif.

Edit: Wait, threadjacking much? Sorry OP.

On a side note, this is one reason I prefer high end air coolers over CLC. For me, it's high end air cooler, then loop if i wanna push further.

This is false.

Anyways, should've bought a Corsair tongue.gif
