I want to ask you, I want to built my system. I have bought 4 items :
  • Cooler Master CM Enforcer (Case)
  • Thermaltake Tough Power 550W 80+ GOLD (PSU)
  • 2 x Gentle Typhoon AP-15 (For exhaust, on top)
  • Sanyo Denki 120L (Intake, also for H80's radiator, back)
I will use this system over 3-4 years for my education (Informatics Engineer Major) and my hobby (Graphic Design). I need computer which capable to do this :
  1. Graphic Design (primary)
  2. Programming (Java, VB, PHP)
  3. Database
  4. Video Editing
  5. Animation 3D (sometimes)
  6. Games (sometimes, like NFS, GTA , PES and their friends)
  7. Other multimedia program which not use 3D
For VGA card, I will wait for GTX660 or go with non-reference MSI GTX560TI HAWK.

List of my spec :

Code:

Code:
procie : Intel i5 3570K
MB : Asus Sabertooth Z77
RAM : Corsair 8GB CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8R (2x4Gb)
CPU Cooler : Corsair H80
Fan Controller : Schtye Kaze Master 5.25"
Hardisk : WDC 500GB SATA 3.5" BLACK
Optical Drive : Sony 24x SATA 5.25" DVDRW
VGA Card : MSI GTX 560TI Hawk OC
My questions :
  1. What will I choose for my Monitor? Prefer LED monitor
  2. Is C8 DRAM better than C9 DRAM?
  3. Will this spec capable to do my works? What will I replace or add on that list?

thanks

Like the above poster said, more RAM for editing, faster RAM helps too, grab an Asrock Z68/Z77 Extreme series mobo and an i7 if possible. GTs will work wonders on that H80

thanks for your reply. Could you give recommendation of mobo? I prefer a LOT of USB port. I look MSI Z77 GD65 but, it only have 2 USB3 (back panel) and 1 USB3 internal.

and what will I choose for Memory? C9 or C8? C8 is more expensive than C9, is it better or not?

thanks for your reply. I know, but I choose 5400 RPM single fan for radiator. and those AP-15 for exhaust. I've already talk this in other forums, they said it's good.

for your question about the ram c8 is betterthen c9 but its more about speed id say. most say after 1600 mhz u wont really know difference unless u benching.

here is what id recommend: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/a1l5

Processor: i7 3770k: 4 cores + 4threads for your graphic designing needs.
Cpu Cooler: H80: good cpu cooler u chose.
Motherboard: Asrock z77 Extreme 4: 8+4 power phase. 6 usb ports(4 usb3, 2 usb2)
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16gb ddr3-1600
HDD: 500gb harddrive
SSD: Crucial M4 128gb: best bang for buck ssd now. I see your from indonesia so wherever you can find one of these brand of drives: Crucial M4, Corsair Force GT, any Intel drive, Samsung 830, OCZ Vertex 4, Kingston 3k, id get one of those the cheapest you can find.
Videocard: 7850 is better than a 560 ti and for about $20 more. i would have recommended a 480 but i have no idea how the prices are where you're at and the 480 is a real power hog and heater.

i will change the CPU to i7 3770K
for motherboard, I have look ASrock Fatal1ty Performance and ASrock Extreme4.. But I havent choose yet.. is it worth money to buy fatal1ty? or go with extreme4?

and SSD, which is better crucial M4 or Corsair GT? Which one have Trim feature on SSD? I think I just need 90Gb for my system.. I dont use much of application and game

I don't know if this true, perfect partner of Intel is NVidia and AMD is Radeon. And NVidia have stable driver then AMD have. Is it right or not?

No the whole intel is nvidia is wrong. amd is amd as they bought ATI few years back. but it does not matter on which u buy. you can have amd system w/ nvidia stuff or intel system with amd stuff same performance from both things. But it just depends on the person to be honest. I have just used amd and have had no problems yet.. ( nothing against nvidia i can just usually find cheaper gpu's from amd when i set up a budget) and id stick with the extreme 4 as the fatal1ty is the same just branded by the " uber l33t gamer" (fatal1ty is the gamer and what the gear is named after) Well i would just get whatever is cheaper. both are great drives and crucial is very reliable but i can only imagine corsair is as well as they make great products. As for trim goes i have no idea to be honest

I see.. I want to buy VGA card when the new GTX660 out. If it's not better than 7850, I'll go with 7850
biggrin.gif

And I will wait for discount of GTX560 or 7850 seriously

I think I will choose Extreme4
biggrin.gif
btw, how long warranity of this ASrock product?
I rather to choose MSI, Asus or Gigabyte. any recommendation?
I thought the 3 brands have a good after-sales service

ok, no problem. I will choose crucial 128Gb, the price is affordable than the corsair GT 90Gb
64Gb I think is not enough for me, although 128 is to much =))
since 90gb's price is close 128Gb, I will choose Crucial..

Asrock Extreme4 is a great motherboard, I would try to get that one. If I am not mistaken, Asrock is a sub-company of Asus, so you get Asus quality boards at a reduced price. As far as alternatives, the Gigabyte UD3 or UD5 are great boards as well.

For a SSD, grab a crucial m4, samsung 830 or plexor M3. They tend to be the best for price/performance.

Is it worth I buy Extreme 6? How's your opinion?
I'll take ASrock mobo, but I still confuse to choose Extreme4 or Extreme6 :s

I prefer Corsair GT 90Gb, it have trim feature and also 90Gb is really enough for me since I'm not installed many games.
64 is not enough, and 128 is much. Hows?
biggrin.gif

and... I checked from my suplier, There are no Samsung and Plexor SSD
frown.gif
They only have Crucial, Corsair, Patriot, G Skill, Intel, OCZ, Muscle Power, Team and Transcend

thanks for your reply

Well, it depends if you are willing to spend the extra $$. You might hit better overclocks with the Extreme6, at most about 200-300Mhz higher. You may not even be able to go higher and it could potentially be the chip holding you back
tongue.gif

All current SSDs should use trim, the m4 will as well. Trim, is a windows feature. Just make sure it is enabled after you install the SSD

Okay then, I will choose Extreme4 since I do not want to OC my computer (Long term use)
biggrin.gif

And, for SSD I'll go with Corsair GT 90Gb
biggrin.gif

My final spec :

Code:

Code:
MB : ASrock Extreme4 Z77
Proc : Intel i7 3770K
Fan Controller : NZXT Sentry 2
SSD : Between Crucial / Corsair GT
RAM : Corsair 16GB (4x4Gb) C9 (low profile)
CPU Cooler : Corsair H80
Hardisk : Seagate 500GB Sata 7200RPM
Optical Drive : Sony 24x SATA 5.25" DVDRW
VGA : Wait for GTX660 / Go with HD7850
Is it cool enough?
biggrin.gif

Or is there something I miss on my system?

and, I want to search cheap LED Full HD monitor, any suggestion?

Acer and Asus normally makes some cheap 1080p monitors in the US. Not sure about Indonesia though. Are you positive you will not be overclocking? If you aren't, the H80 is useless but Asrocks bios makes it simple to overclock
tongue.gif

If you arent going to overclock, just use the stock cooler. If you ever get the urge to overclock, grab an H80 or equivalent then

I think, H80 to cool my proc while I'm rendering some graphic. Is it useful?

nope T.T
Asus and Acer are still expensive here. The only one which match my budget is LG E2060T LED.. If there's cheaper than it, I'll go with the cheaper one

At stock settings your i7 should not be getting tremendously hot, as long as your ambient temp isnt like 35C or more you should be fine with stock cooling. You could also step down to a H67/77 board.

LG monitors tend to be decent. In the US they are normally more expensive than an Asus/Acer monitor, which is why I hardly recommend them. That monitor you listed is not 1080p either. You should try to get 1080p it is well worth it.. For the most part, when dealing with cheaper monitors, the "LED" is just a marketing gimmick. They are not true LED monitor/tvs. Grab a 1080p LCD and it will be better than getting a 1600x900 LED.

I live near by equator line, and my room has no Air Conditioner. That's way I choose H80, and some of high quality fan for my PC like San-Ace 120L and AP-15. Is it reasonable to choose H80 or any recommendation?
biggrin.gif

I see.. But, I have read some articles, Ivy Bridge will perfectly match with Z77 chipset. I want my Ivy Bridge run at best performace without OC

Have read and check mobo with H77/H67 chipset, and I think I will choose Z77. Since H77/H67 have fewer USB and Audio Jack.. I rather choose built audio than buy a sound card

Okay, will contact for my suplier for cheapest 1080p LCD
biggrin.gif
BenQ GL2230 I think that's good. And I want to ask, is there something bad if I choose Monitor TV for my Computer monitor?

Acer is leading netbook/notebook/PC market in Indonesia, so they are expensive. Really T.T

Basically its something that increases the speed and workflow of your work in Adobe Premiere Pro with the supported Nvidia card, only. There isn't any support for AMD with the Mercury Playback engine at the moment. Nvidia is the way to go if you edit in that program, so you can fully utilize the potential.

wogh... how cool.. But, 570 still expensive and 480 I think that's not good for long term use..
And also, my 550W PSU will not enough of those VGA card

Well thats a great PSU, you can power either a GTX 570 or 480 on IVY with everything overclocked without hitting any issues

get a separate harddrive for your OS and programs.
A single 500GB will be eaten up when video editing, especially with HD resolution
