Removing Windows 8 from HDD without deleting partition?

Thread Starter
So I installed Windows 8 and did a dual boot but right now i want to delete the files from my second hdd without deleting or formatting any hdd.I deleted windows 8 from msconfig so it doesnt act as a dual boot anymore but all of the windows files are on my second hard drive?
Every time i try to delete the windows files it says i need permission? I gave my user full permission for the folder but it still wont delete?

Did you try safe mode?
Also via command prompt?
Also combination of the above? smile.gif

Then maybe you could make a recovery disk (google Win7 recovery CD), boot from it and use the command prompt there to delete whatever remains. This has always worked for me!

Under Windows 7:
1) Right click on the folder, and go to properties
2) Go to the "Security" tab
3) Click "Advanced"
4) Click "Change Permissions"
5) Make sure "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is DESELECTED. If you deselect it, when it pops up, You should click "Add" so that we don't have to re-add anything.
6) Find your user group (most likely Administrators), and select it. If it doesn't exist (it should), add it. If it exists, click "Edit".
7) Make sure "Full Control is set to "Allow".
8) Click OK
9) Make sure "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object"
10) Click "Yes" to the pop up box.
11) Click OK
12) Click OK

Try deleting it again
